  • A disturbing car accident scene is shown. There isn't any blood, but we see the victim's folders and school papers strewn across the lawn, and the paramedics rushing in to help.
  • There are some intense scenes as one of the main character begins her long recovery after being in a car accident.
  • The tube that helps Brooke breathe accidentally disconnects while she is sleeping in the middle of the night. She wakes up to a loud buzzing noise and is unable to breathe. Two nurses rush in to help her. They have a hard time finding the connection, but after about 30 seconds, they finally get it, and she's okay. By then, though, Brooke is visibly upset, with tears streaming down her face.
  • Some references are made to pressure sores that Brooke gets on her bottom when she doesn't switch positions in bed every few hours, or when she doesn't eat properly.
  • A young teenager's potential battle with anorexia is discussed.
