Seems to be "frak" from the subtitles on 'Caprica' which I'm watching now. It expands to "frakking" etc. ...
Bear in mind, this is not a show aimed at children like the original version was. The miniseries, and the subsequent series, were full of action, but it's not just a dumb shoot-em-up.

Yes, although it's producers call it a "reimagined" series, due to some slight differences.
A battlestar is a very lage spaceship, kind of a cross between a battleship and an aircraft carrier.
Cylons are robots created by mankind as servants and laborers. Eventually, the Cylons became self-aware, then they rebelled and declared war on their human masters. They later evolved and took on a form virtually indistinguishable from that of humans, making it almost impossible to tell a Cylon from a human being. However, only 12 different models of these humanoid Cylons exist, though there are many copies of each model. Additionally, when a humanoid Cylon dies, their consciousness is downloaded into a new identical body, making them effectively immortal.
