  • In the PlayStation and Dreamcast version, after you lose all your lives, after a four-second delay, the "GAME OVER" screen appears, which shows a defeated Buzz Lightyear, along with scary dramatic "Game Over" music in the background. It caused a lot of controversy due to being too frightening for its target audience because of the scary "Game Over" music. In the PC version, the screen is skipped, whereas in the N64 version, the screen is silent.
  • Certain bosses may frighten some kids.
  • In the PC version of Toy Story 2, the boss named Emperor Zurg in level 12 is much harder to defeat due to the Windows 7 speed glitch in the game which may frustrate many players trying to win.
  • A movie cutscene with Buzz Lightyear and the toys crossing the street in orange cones causes car accidents which may scare kids.
