Breaking Glass Pictures/Vicious Circle Films has announced the January 10 Blu-ray and DVD release of The Summer of Massacre (doesn't quite roll off the tongue comfortably).
Here is how the distributor describes this one:

Lots of horror films claim to have insane body counts. However, only one claims to have had it verified by Guinness World Records. The Summer of Massacre anthology film boasts eight slashers introduced across five stories throughout the film and a body count that may be the biggest of all time. Wow, that's quite the pile of dead.
Creators of The Summer of Massacre have reported that Guinness World Records has honored them with the distinction of having the largest body count ever in a horror film. We investigated this claim and unfortunately could not verify it with a search of the Guiness World Records website, but that doesn't mean that the red isn't seriously flowing in this film. Check out the trailer below to verify that!
Written and directed by Joe Castro (Terror Toons 1&2, The Jackhammer Massacre), The Summer of Massacre features Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre), Nick Principe (Laid to Rest,...

The Guinness Book of World Records may very well have a new entry when The Summer of Massacre releases Jan. 10th on Blu-ray/DVD. This movie is boasting one of the largest body counts imaginable, and that will be a claim audiences will have to watch with a count ticker to verify.
This release will feature five stories about serial killers and maniacs—eight of them in total—as they wreck or maim their victims in what Breaking Glass Pictures/Vicious Circle Films says will be a gore-fest for the senses.
Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre), Nick Principe (Laid to Rest), and Cleve Hall (Nightmare) are just a few names in this star-studded package. And writer/director Joe Castro (Terror Toons 1 & 2, The Jackhammer Massacre) will introduce most of these tales.
The Blu-Ray/DVD release will come loaded with numerous special features, including: a director’s commentary, a behind the scenes director’s diary,...

There is big news coming out of the Weezer camp. Even though they've been busy on the road, they've got a new album ready to go that frontman Rivers Cuomo says will have "more raw rock energy." Though the collection — which will be the band's eighth and their first away from Geffen Records — still does not have a title, Cuomo told a Connecticut newspaper that he is (perhaps jokingly) contemplating Heavy Mental as a name.
That title works on a million different levels. It taps into Cuomo's love for hard rock (his favorite band of all time is Kiss), is a delightful pun and is also the name of an album by woefully underrated Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Killah Priest. (No, seriously.) Just in case Cuomo cools on Heavy Mental, here are some suggestions for album titles in a number of different categories.

The teasing is over! This here is the real deal. The moment we wait all year for: The lineup for the powerful, the mighty Boston Underground Film Festival, which is set to run March 25 to April 1. Now in its 12th year, Buff shows no sign of slowing down or taking it easy. In fact, this might be their most demented and transgressive edition yet.
There are homages to Giallo horror, tributes to the grand grindhouse tradition of sleaze and exploitation, sex and violence galore — both separately and together — plus, a resurrected ’80s slasher classic that all combine into an epic celebration of everything that is vicious and twisted in this world. But, in a fun way, ya know.
Alas, I haven’t seen any of the feature films that are playing this year, so I can’t offer any special recommendations of those. Although, there are many (most) that I...
