Ewww!
planktonrules25 January 2009
This is a bizarre little short film from Australia that I am sure is NOT to everyone's taste. Much of the film lacks context and this really is not a complaint--but you sure are wondering what is happening and what had already happened.

The film begins with an idiot sitting on the couch watching children's television. When his roommate arrives, he asks the couch potato if he got rid of the body(!) and the guy on the couch says he was too busy--though there's been a body in their apartment for three days! How it got there, who it was and what sort of cretins these two guys are isn't really explained--and in some ways this makes it pretty funny because you find yourself wondering what it's all about.

Eventually, the non-lazy roommate forces the guy to do something to get rid of the body, so the lazy jerk just sticks him in the trunk and says the body is gone--though it appears to be summer and you can't just leave it there. So, ultimately both are shown on a trek into the countryside to dispose of it.

The film gets very high marks for humor--dark as it is. I loved many of the little moments, though should also point out that because the film is about murder and the language is very rough, this is NOT a kids' movie (big surprise there, mate).

Snowtown massacre
gut-610 January 2005
Unlike many shorts, this one has an actual plot. This seems to me to be a very amusing satirical take the perpetrators of the Snowtown massacre, although there are only two killers in this short (presumably for reasons of budget constraints) rather than the three who committed the real-life mass murders. The plot revolves around a pair of very suburban male serial killers, one of whom is young and extremely lazy and the other of whom is middle-aged and does all the work and the planning. The plot revolves around the frustrations of the older one in fruitlessly trying to get the younger one to complete his household chores, such as disposing of the bodies of the people they have killed. Very funny and very unusual.

Australian Short
Celt475 March 2004
Very funny short subject about two oddly matched characters who, for some reason, have to bury a body. It's about ten or fifteen minutes long and hilariously focuses on the tension between the two characters. One is obviously the 'brains' and the other is a wasted beer guzzler. The tension arises from the inabilty of the drunk to follow the instructions of the 'boss', including how and where to store the body and procuring shovels to get the job done. It is never explained why they have to bury the body but that doesn't matter because the tension between the two is the whole story. The 'boss' has very specific ideas on how to get the job done and his wasted assistant's ineptitude produces one belly laugh after another.
