corny but fun

Warning: Spoilers
I would like to make it that the storyline of the film is good and the actors are well cast for their roles. The only problem is that it was done too much on a low budget, the acting can be over the top and with historical costume it is anecdotal.

The story is about some Ottoman soldiers lead by Cuneyt Arkin to escort a Serbian princess Elza (Leyla Selimi) with her lady in waiting (Oya Peri) to either an Italian or Hungarian prince called Arnold who ambushes the imperial escort and has his political agenda as we learn at the end, with Elza the damsel and the Ottoman commander the hero.

The soldiers lead by Akin are more country bandits then imperial Ottoman soldiers and secondly the Ottomans never used or thought of themselves as "Turks" that was a term introduced by the Kemalists in the 1920s. The costumes of the Serbs and the Franks are more accurate though some of the Franks are dressed as Romans and not Knights. The supporting characters of Elza's brother Henrico make the film enjoyable with humour but some actions sequences are so cheesy for a film that tries to be serious.

Overall a good film with a good storyline and cast just badly executed because of lack of investment.
