An unpolished gem of a film
jollyspaniard11 October 2010
The production is a bit amateurish (paticularly the sound editing) and it doesn't make a terrific amount of sense but I enjoyed watching this film. I spent the entire time wondering what the heck was going on, a feeling that doesn't end when the film ends either.

However there's an interesting story in there underneath the jarring edits and awkwardly constructed scenes. I found myself sucked in by it and quite enjoying it. The plot is novel, intelligent and free from the usual familiar clichés you're accustomed to seeing in films of this genre. The filmmakers assume you aren't an idiot and leave quite a bit to your imagination (except for the sound editor who lays it on a bit thick). That's a quality I find quite admirable. However they take it a bit too far at points and I found myself wondering why certain things were happening in a few places.

My main beef is with the ending. I'm not going to give away details but the story doesn't feel finished and that more than anything else detracts from an unpolished gem.
