Nutty as a fruitcake! Look and be amazed of what a bunch of crackpots can do with lots of paper-mâché and silly costumes from a comic book store...

This German persiflage of star trek is one of my favorites. The characters are pretty much exaggerated, the story takes up pieces from episodes of the classic star trek series. The USS Enterprise is somewhere in space when they are being contacted by an admiral, who gives them orders to rescue a bunch of people from a planet near by. This got to happen in a hurry, cause the planet seems to explode any second. Of course Captain Kirk and his crew don't hesitate to take this mission. The title "Von Wolken, Frauen und Klingonen" (Of clouds, women and klingons) makes you anticipate that also "strange" clouds, women falling in love with the captain and the klingons appear in this movie. Though the set contains mostly of ordinary living room fitments and painted paper board it does not appear crappy. It is fun to see of what the set contains of: computer buttons are originally board game tokens, medical devices in the ward are made of parlor games. The actors appear not to be real professionals, each one seems to bring his own personality into the movie. However everything suits perfectly. I like the outtakes. This admiral seems to have an out of body experience. He screwed up his line for over 10 times... After all this film shows what a bunch of motivated people can do without a big budget. Looking at the outtakes everybody seems to have had really fun when doing that movie.
