During filming of the scene where Martin and Peter steal an ambulance and ram a police car while driving towards a Hercules airplane, an accident happened. Due to a minor miscalculation, the ambulance flipped onto its side upon hitting the police car. Since there was no replacement ambulance, the crew had to put the crashed one back on its wheels. Luckily, it still worked and filming could be resumed.
The two men hit by Bennies car when it crashes into a movie theater are Holland's best-known film critics, Jac. Goderie and René Mioch.
Bennie suddenly yells at Koen "Learn to speak Dutch properly" in a conversation. Non-Dutch-speaking viewers might not get what this is about, since Koen's lines are subtitled in the same English as the other characters'. It is a reference to the different ways Belgians and Dutch speak Dutch (same language, different accents and idiom, like UK and US English).
Jaak Van Assche was (is) afraid of water due to a dramatic incident on the North Sea in his youth, and had to overcome his fears for the underwater scene near the end.
When the ambulance is dropped onto Vuk and the flight attendant, the door falls out. According to Tim Oliehoek, this wasn't planned, it was a lucky coincidence.
