Sex & Nudity

  • Wolverine and Jean make out passionately. He lies on top of her, she wraps her legs around him, scratches his shoulder (which heals). He kisses her neck and rubs her bare leg (she's wearing short shorts). She uses her telekinesis to remove his belt.
  • Jean is seen in a revealing dress.
  • Mystique is seen naked, lying on the floor, she covers most of her breast so you can kinda see the side, you see her entire backside bare from the hip down, buttocks (butt crack is not shown) as well. The scene is non-sexual.

Violence & Gore

  • This film easily has the highest body count of the first 5 films of the franchise. Though the violence is not gory, there is always some blood involved, from characters being hit, scratched, thrown around, or stabbed with knives. The fights and violence are always shown from quick cuts so no extreme detail is seen, but it is still very brutal and intense to watch.
  • A young boy is seen with wounds on his back and holding a bloody knife, as he has cut off his wings.
  • In one scene a woman kicks, punches and chokes several men. Vehicles full of government agents are destroyed.
  • A woman snaps a man's neck with her legs.
  • A man pulls spikes out of his body which had been thrown into him. His shirt is bloody but no other gore is shown. Several people are killed with slicing weapons, not much is shown.
  • One mutant has the power to regenerate severed limbs which reappear after they are cut off (no blood).
  • A woman is electrocuted and people are shot with tranquilizers that take away mutant powers.
  • One mutant can turn people into dust and does so repeatedly. In one scene this disintegration is seen as someone's skin being shredded, with muscle & skeleton visible; bloody portions of his body are shown).

Profanity

  • 5 uses of "hell", 2 uses of "damn", 1 use of "ass", 1 use of "bitch", 1 use of "dickhead".
  • Mild
  • 2 use of "bitch"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man is shown smoking cigars in one scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole film has a doomsday type of feel to it.
  • Several main characters are killed; scenes are often quite intense and emotional.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Cyclops is killed by a resurrected jean grey. She kisses him revealing her black eyes while she kisses him his body is disnagrated so no onscreen death and his glasses are seen floating when wolverine finds out about his death
  • Wolverine kills jean by his claws she gets stabbed but it's not that violent
  • The mutant cure is a syringe held by a boy in a facility it stabs people not violent but it results them losing their powers

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character who has been presented as a hero throughout the franchise thus far is essentially possessed by an evil entity/alternate personality and causes a great deal of death and destruction. Towards the end of the film, the aforementioned character experiences a moment of clarity and tearfully begs her friend to kill her, which he does by stabbing her through the stomach with the three blades that protrude from his fist.
  • A young Angel is seen cutting off his wings to hide his mutation it's quite sad that he hid it from his father and does cry
  • Cyclops is killed off by jean grey she creates a illusion to force him to take off his glasses resulting him kissing Jean and the Jean reveals her black eyes, killing him with her Phoenix force. It can be quite upsetting given the fact he is basically the leader of the X-Men who is just killed off but he is alive in the revised timeline
