Inferior remake dealing with a sympathetic group of unlucky bank workers carry out a heist with unexpected consequences .

Remake to ¨Atraco a Las Tres¨ that was a brilliant and fun parody about bank robbery sub-genre with portentous as well as likable characterizations , in this new entry there are also charming roles but by far the original film . This agreeable picture concerns a hold-up pulled off by a bunch of unfortunate as well as bungling people but things go awry . It deals with a beloved group of characters who attempt to execute a robbing led by Fernando Galindo (Iñaqui Miramón replacing Jose Luis López Vázquez) who works in the ¨Prevision Bank¨ (the remaining permanent staff are Josema Yuste , Josep Julien , Cristina Solà , Manuel Millán , Manolo Royo) . A powerful German bank named ¨Bremen¨ bought this small bank and then decides to pre-retirement the workers to execute new plans and using high technology , firing the old personnel . And the bureaucratic and repressive office chief (Juan Fernández) has to proceed these schemes . At the beginning the bank employees are reluctant but one day Galindo convinces the others in the bank to plan a hold-up in the office they are working . Galindo convincing definitively the others to join him and all of them decide to rob the bank , as the clerks prepare everything carefully . As soon as they deceive a neighbour (Chus Lampreave) , the group hatches an elaborate scheme to steal a fortune from the vault by digging a hole on the upper apartment . But events get worse , including the fact that they are suspects by the bank manager director .

It is a caper comedy follows a bumbling group of bank workers decide to execute a robbery . It is an amusing and funny comedy with several fun and hilarious set pieces , great comic performances , social critique on economical crisis , lots of laughs , and many other things . There are some nice jokes in the film and the cast , playing eccentric characters , make a cosy fit . It takes a simple concept , a peculiar robbing , being schemed , planned and proceeded by botcher people . ¨Atraco a Las Tres Y Media¨ is a comical and sometimes disconcerting account of a bunch of middle-lower class people from the personal , social , cultural , and economic perspective , because needing all of them , urgently , amount of money to resolve their problematic lives . For viewers today , this film gives a certain nostalgia for a simpler , more naive era of entertainment . This film packs attractive images , strange situations , fun things , twists and turns ; but it especially contains catching touches of humor and irony . Interesting as well as funny screenplay by prolific writer/producer Pedro Maso who said in an interview that he wrote the script in 9 nights ; being mostly set into a bank office and adapted to Spanish characteristics by this time . And including some sexual scenes and nudism in charge of Beatriz Rico and Elsa Pataky . The flick interweaves fun comedy along with a social criticism about the Spanish crisis of the early 2000s and a little bit of suspense and great amusement . This film is made to entertain , and this movie , especially for a good time and a pleasant entertainment . And it results in a highly original yarn though takes a lot of ideas from original , with a fine message , which is pretty well delivered . The flick contains silly incidents , fun plot twists , tongue-in-cheek , grotesque situations and above all , humor . Sitting in a strange middle ground between the completely absurd and the stylishly cool . This film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few ridiculous . The characters are quite odd , grotesque and geek and the film races on at incredible speed . Filmmaker delivers an acceptable comedy in which the main and support cast are frankly outstanding . The main attraction resides in its excellent cast in which stand out Iñaqui Miramón , and a large support cast full of familiar faces as Juán Fernández as manager bank , Carlos Larrañaga , Manuela Velasco , Neus Asensi , Beatriz Rico , Chus Lampreave , Marta Fernández Muro , Natalia Millán , Pedro Reyes , Blanca Marsillach , and gorgeous Elsa Pataky , among others .

The motion picture was professionally directed by Raoul Marchand , though with no originality . However , the true creator was the prolific producer Pedro Masó , who also written/produced the original and this remake . He was a great writer , producer and director , expert on comedies , known for La Coquito (1977), Puente Aereo , La Miel , La Menor , Una Chica Y Un Señor , Experiencia Prematrimonial , Las Adolescentes , La Familia Bien Gracias , Las Colocadas , Las Ibéricas F.C. , and several others . The original picture ¨Atraco a Las Tres¨ or international title : ¨Robbery at 3 O'clock¨ (1962) was directed by filmmaker José Maria Forqué , it is considered a gem of 1960s Spanish film comedy , its status as a classic derives from the wonderful and iconic great cast as José Luis López Vázquez as unforgettable Galindo , , José Orjas , Cassen , Gracita Morales , Agustin Gonzalez , Manuel Alexandre and Alfredo Landa . It had various remakes and other films regarding this 1962 classic such as ¨El Palo¨ with Adriana Ozores , Carmen Maura , Malena Alterio and finally this ¨Atraco a Las Tres... y Media¨ (2003) by Raoul Marchand also with a big main cast and plenty of secondaries and again Manuel Alexandre . Rating . Rating : 5.5/10 . So-so , passable remake but failed at the Spanish box office .
