From notorious J-splatter/sleaze director Daisuke Yamanouchi, who brought you such filthy classics as MUZAN E, GIRL HELL, RED ROOM 1&2, and SENKETSU NO KIZUNA, comes another nasty mess - KYOKO VS. YUKI. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this film - I really just didn't...
My copy has no subs or dubs, so from what I gather from the film, Kyoko is a trained assassin and Yuki is a thief (or is it the other way around?...). When they both share the same "mark" for a job, things get competitive between the two professionals, resulting in some pretty bloody cat-fights.
Although KYOKO VS. YUKI had some of the shock elements that Yamanouchi is famous for (over-the-top gore, totally unnecessary sleazy sex, a pretty twisted lesbian necrophilia scene, etc...) this one still is the weakest of his films that I've seen so far. I thought that this was a pretty cool and solid concept for a splatter film, if not totally original (several mainstream films have been made with the same basic premise...) but it just didn't deliver. Worth a look to the hard-core "extreme" horror/sleaze fan...most others will be sickened or disappointed. A pretty generous 6/10
