Back from the dead a man must rape and kill to please his demon mistress. Its a wacky and unpleasant horror film most people should avoid
dbborroughs16 June 2006
Taken out of the electric chair and given a new life by a demoness a man must rape and kill constantly in order to remain faithful to his evil contract. However the string of bodies he leaves behind has caught the notice of the police who try to find the mad man who is killing the men and women.

I saw this in Spanish with no subtitles but since the plot was so minimal none are really required. I think the only thing lost are the details, otherwise its easy to follow.

The question is is it worth following? If you are not into low budget psychotronic movies I'd stay away. I'd also stay away if rape upsets you. This is brutal stuff, even if its not always expertly brought off. With the exception of two thieves everyone, killed, male and female is raped before they are stabbed and 666 is carved in their back. Its repetitive but nasty and certainly not the type of movie you'd want to play for polite company (unless you want them to leave fast). Made with a minimum of skill the film really isn't bad so much as dumb. Once the premise is set up its just variations of the same thing over and over again. The filmmakers seemed to be aware of this and gave the killer a death ray that he could shoot from his eyes.

I don't know how to rate or react to this film. Its a bit too repetitive and misogynistic to really be enjoyable and yet there is something so wacky and brain damaged about it that makes it worth trying; particularly for those who are into movies that any reasonable person would avoid.

5 out of 10 simply because there is no rational rating for this film.

Takes too long to get going.

Warning: Spoilers
If only this lived up to Vinegar Syndrome's great cover art. The female Satan is very disappointing... if she was super hot and sometimes you saw flashes of her as a grotesque devil, that would've been better. A weird older fashionista lady doesn't quite work for me (it is different though as far as a portrayal of Satan). Even worse are the rather lame FX especially El Gato's eye lasers. Still though, it is unique as a piece of Mexican exploitation and I'm still happy I saw it but it's not really that good. There are some beautiful women in it but it does take a while to actually get to them. The male rape is the only thing that happens for the first 30 min and I don't think it's very disturbing or anything but I've probably seen way too many exploitation films. The recent film The Sadness is much better in that area although it lacks the women in this but it's a million times better overall. But again it's interesting to see something like this out of Mexico. If only he went even more crazy... feels odd to say this needs to be more extreme but I guess I've seen too much. Don't end up like me.

Desserves cult status

The Infernal Rapist is a sick exploitation masterpiece from Mexico. Just read the plot: A notorious killer dies in the electric chair in a maximum security prison. So great was his evil that Satan offers him a deal. He will get to go back to Earth as long as he sacrifices people to the devil and carves 666 on them somewhere. The guy, of course, accepts and gets reborn in the body of a drug dealer. He begins a trail of carnage that lasts throughout the movie.

Every fan of exploitation and obscure foreign movies should check this. A serial rapist is executed in the chair but then is back to life thanks to a woman from hell. Now his mission is to rape, kill and mark with the 666 all the men and woman he can. Very violent rape scenes, great lines, very offensive and exploitative, this movie is a must. The gay rape is over the top and great, the women are gorgeous, everything is excellent if you are a fan of this kind of stuff. Desserves cult status and a 2 disc special edition DVD. 8/10

Naughty and nasty roughie from south of the border
dworldeater18 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
If you see the title of the film and think, "That sounds like something I want to watch". Then trust me, The Infernal Rapist will not disappoint you. Satan(In human female form, looking like a hooker that really enjoys her job) grants serial rapist Carlos unlimited wealth and drugs, as long as he rapes and kills both men and women carvings three sixes as a form of sacrifice to The Dark Lord. This sends Carlos on a rape and murder rampage until the end of the movie. Cheerfully sleazy, our man Carlos is having a really good time praise hailing Satan. There is a good amount of nudity, but never crosses into X rated material. There is a bit of violence, but is not a super gory affair. If you compare this to something like A Serbian Film, then this film is pretty tame in comparison. Still, The Infernal Rapist is sleazy low budget trash that should easily offend everybody.

Completely Trashy (And Fun) Mexican Exploiter...
EVOL66624 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
EL VIOLADOR INFERNAL is one of the stranger films I've seen lately. Completely misogynistic and offensive, this one will only appeal to the TRUE exploitation film fans out there, but if you're one of us - then this one is a must-see. My copy is in Spanish language only (and I don't speak Spanish) but I think I got the gist of it.

A criminal is executed in the electric chair, but some sort of demoness sets him free by shooting laser-beams into his head and eyes. The criminal is now indebted to the demoness and must now go around snorting coke and murdering and raping (typically in that order...) everyone in sight, and then has to carve "666" into their bodies. He even gets the benefit of the same laser-vision as the demoness and uses this new power to put people on fire and cause other general havoc (like makin' bitches float around ridiculously through the air), and apparently bullets don't harm him either...

EL VIOLADOR INFERNAL is weak on plot and the gore FX are more H.G. Lewis-ish than actually effective - but the incredibly misogynistic treatment of the female (and one male) victims will be far too mean-spirited for most viewers. Personally, I found the film pretty funny due to it's over-the-top violence and sleaze, but I live for this sort of thing, so of course I dug it. Definitely worth a look to serious exploit fans, others probably won't get much from it...8/10

Just woah...

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, every once in a while, I wonder - after watching movies like The New York Ripper, Cannibal Holocaust, Last House on Dead End Street and on and on - do I have the capacity to be shocked and upset any longer?

Happily, a steady diet of Mexican 1980's VHS era films has proved that I still have the capacity to be upset by movies.

1988's El Violador Infernal (The Infernal Rapist) is the kind of movie that saw Fulci's roughest film and said, "Yeah, but what if the killer was the main character and he sniffed coke and we ripped off Shocker?"

Carlos (Noe Murayama, who came from Japan to Mexico with his dentist father and ended up being a character actor in tons of movies) is the main character, who is about to die in the electric chair when Satan herself (Ana Luisa Peluffo, who was in Vagabundo en la Lluvia and one of the first mainstream Mexican stars to appear nude in films; her career stretches from 1948 to 2014 and here, she was already sixty years old), who is a fabulous older woman dressed and shot in the way that only telenovela characters and the finest drag queens dream of being filmed.

She tells him that if he wants to live, he must sexually assault people, kill them and then carve 666 into their bodies. She seals the deal by firing laser beams out of her eyes and blasting his brain into the body of a drug dealer. These are the kinds of scenes that I keep rewinding and watching before sending them in the middle of the night to Bill from Groovy Doom like some kind of insomniac zombie fiend.

I mean, she promises him quite literally "all the drugs."

His first kill is the drug dealer's best friend, who he first overdoses on a bad batch of heroin, then, just when you're thinking, "I hope he doesn't have sex with that guy's dead body," that's exactly what he does before repeatedly stabbing the man and carving the number of the beast into his freshly defiled ass. Seeing as how this is shot with wacky synths and with a lead who it's difficult to tell if this scene is making him laugh, cry or come, this movie starts in a bewildering fashion and does not let up.

For some reason, the cops can't catch a criminal who has come back from the dead, uses his real name and tells people what he is about to do and basically goes after every woman who works at the same beauty salon. He's able to make them float, surround them in fog and kill them one by one, yet none of them say, "Girl, don't go out with Carlos El Gato. He's bad news."

Eventually, El Gato screws up and doesn't carve seis seis seis into an asscheek quick enough, which leads to Satan flinging him off a roof after he shrugs off numerous cops shooting him.

Wow. Obviously, Mexican films of this era had no budget to go with their utter lack of morality. It's amazing to me that this movie even exists. I learned of it by wanting to see what other films that Princess Lea, who is also in Intrepidos Punks and La Vangaza de los Punks, was in. I can only imagine what other indignities she would suffer in her other films after this one.

Note: Just because I wrote about the Herschell Gordon Lewis goes to Mexico direct to video sleazefest doesn't mean that I condone sexual violence toward men and women. Obviously, if you know me or have read any of my writing, you know where I stand on these issues. Yet in today's society, I feel like I have to make some form of disclaimer to let you know that I find the behavior in this film - as well as others I've mentioned - abhorrent. Now let's all treat each other with respect and empathy while loving really bad movies

Has something for every exploitation fan!
insomniac_rod13 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
They don't make them like this anymore!... At least in México. "El Violador Infernal" is a prime example of how Mexican sleaze and bizarreness has plenty to dig from.

The movie has bits for any Exploitation fan to enjoy! There are plenty of eerie moments (some have to do with the fog), good gore, depravity (all about the rapings), erotica, dirty and filthy dialogs, plus some blasphemy, and badass descriptions of the main villain. Heck, it even deals with political pressure from the D.A. towards the investigation.

As a Mexican, I always try to be objective while commenting exploitation flicks from my country. To be honest and 100% objective, some situations that "may" seem and look creepy and violent, COULD be considered as cheesy by most of us, Mexican Horror film addicts who can identify quality in these kind of movies.

But this isn't by any means MST material. No, "El Violador Infernal" features plenty of horror depravity and material not seen very frequently.

Also, the movie is not THAT graphic and violent in terms on content. Sure, we see how "El Gato" rapes a gay man from behind after slashing him, but it's not THAT graphic as in other 79's or 80's exploitation movies with such a raw plot.

At some points this looks like any slasher rip-off from "Friday the 13th". Also, it tries to look similar to "Evil Dead" (specially in the woods scenario). But it tries to maintain a regular look and mysticism. It looks raw, feels raw, delivers brutal situations and best of all, it maintains a high level of entertainment.

But not everything's great, I mean, the movie gets dull and repetitive at some points. Also, it gets very cheesy but never lets you down.

The assassinations are very violent but repetitive. Most of them deal with violent stabbings. The highlight has to do with "El Gato" teleporting and making a whore fly and bounce in the air! The devilish references are minimal but fit perfectly to add a more macabre tone.

I dug the cop chasing serial killer situation. Flaco Ibañez is one badass policeman.

The acting is not good or bad. Noé Murayama delivers a brave performance but I didn't buy him all of the time. For example, he's terrible at faking orgasms! (The gay man raping for example).

There are plenty of hot women that get naked, perform sexual situations such as lesbian kissing and touching (thank you!) and even fingering! Excellent material for those like me who like soft core porn.

The gore is just decent and the score is so bad and repetitive it's cool! Gotta love the synthesizers.

I recommend this movie for any fan of exploitation and trash cinema.

Those who are into Mexican Horror should re-define the sub-genres it contains. This movie is part of Mexi-Exploitation and not from most things you have seen.

Sick Mexican exploitation trash.
HumanoidOfFlesh8 November 2005
Criminal Carlos "El Gato" is executed in the electric chair.Carlos is then resurrected by a creepy demoness called the 'Supreme Being of Darkness',but he has to renounce his religion, and spend his time raping and murdering people:each human sacrifice must be marked with a "666".Soon the orgy of brutal violence and rape is set in motion...Very sleazy and offensive Mexican exploitation trash. The rape scenes are brutal and rather unpleasant, and the level of sexual violence is very high.Even a young homosexual man is viciously stabbed to death and raped by sexually insatiable El Violador Infernal, who then carves "666" on the corpse's buttocks. The special effects are inept and the acting is mediocre, however fans of strikingly nasty low-budget exploitation won't be disappointed.8 out of 10.

Excellent film
jinx_malone19 February 2024
Packed to the brim with exciting hairstyles, unusual eye makeup, salacious concerns, interesting nail art, Satan, constant use of drugs and alcohol, nostalgic fashions, and peculiar pick up lines. I gave this film ten stars out of ten for not being made in 2023 and for being short as well as a lot of fun for a number of reasons, most of which I listed above.

Vinegar Syndrome did a great job restoring this forgotten piece of Mexican exploitation and bringing it to a new audience, who are probably all very unhappy at the thought of such a film even existing. Most importantly, I thought the lead actor was sort of cute, and gave a fantastic, if somewhat turgid performance and in closing? I'm a fan.
