- Amy's underwear sometimes shows in the Japanese version, which may make some viewers uncomfortable, but it's not much different than wearing shorts. While in the English version, nothing is shown.
- In the Japanese version, Amy presents a party dress she wears to Sonic, who is speechless. She moves her hand towards Sonic's crotch. The scene immediately cuts to a close-up of their heads, where Sonic moans, though it is impossible to know if she actually touched Sonic's crotch. This is only implied.
- In the Japanese version, when Topaz takes handcuffs to arrest Rouge, she jokingly asks if Topaz is into sadism and masochism, causing Topaz to blush. However, in the English version, Rouge tells Topaz that she is tough for an old lady.
- Rouge acts flirtatiously towards Knuckles in both versions. In the Japanese version, she asks if Knuckles is good during the night, which makes Knuckles blush. In the English version, Rouge only says that she wants to work alongside Knuckles at all times. After this scene, in both versions, Rouge tells Knuckles that they may share the same prison cell, which makes Knuckles feel even more embarrassed.
- In the English version, suggestive saxophone music is played in most scenes where Rouge is present. She acts, talks, and interacts in a flirtatious manner with other characters most of the time in both versions.
- While having a fighting competition in episode 45, Rouge gives Tails a kiss on the cheek, which causes him to get distracted, fall, and lose the fight. Nothing too suggestive.
- The original Japanese version has sexual jokes and references, with some being pretty explicit. In the English version however, most all of these jokes were removed or softened.
- In episode 17 in the Japanese version, Decoe and Bocoe are chased by Knuckles. The robots hide in a kind of dance house, where there are women belly dancers dressed in an extremely suggestive way. Knuckles, upon entering, is embarrassed and ends up running away while the robots have fun with the girls. In the English version, this scene was removed.
- In one episode in the Japanese version, Rouge takes a bubble bath with her evening gloves on while inquiring about the chaos emerald, and accidently pulled Bokkun into the tub with her from the impact of the rocking ship. In the English version, this scene was removed.
- In the Japanese version, a robot is saved by Sonic, and it falls in love with him. In the English version, this scene was removed.
- There is a romance between Tails and Cosmo, and this is highlighted and focused on in some episodes of season 3. Though there is nothing too suggestive about this.
- Sonic and Amy kiss in one of Amy's daydreams in episode 9, though this is brief and nothing overly suggestive.
- There are mildly mature and suggestive themes, though mostly in the Japanese version.
- In the first episode, Sonic is shown landing in a swimming pool holding his breath with puffed cheeks. Mildly suggestive to some viewers.
- Many apparent crushes and relationships are shown throughout the series, such as Sonic and Amy, Tails and Cosmo, Knuckles and Rouge, and Shadow and Rouge.
- In the Japanese version, Rouge wears a heart-shaped plate that shows cleavage, which may make viewers uncomfortable, but there is no nudity. However, in the English version her cleavage is not as noticeable and is mostly removed.
Violence & Gore

- In one episode in the Japanese version, a character gets cut with a brief sight of a wound and shows mild blood spray.
- Mild cartoon violence, often involving Sonic and his friends fighting Dr. Eggman and his creations. Mild implications of death in some of the later episodes, though the English version makes these episodes seem less severe.
Profanity

- The English version contains no profanity, though there is some mild name calling and a play on words twice of "kiss off" instead of "piss off".
- In the Japanese version, "damn", "hell", "bastard", "pissed", and a few uses of "shit" are said.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- In the Japanese version, beverages can be seen and drunk in the background of some episodes, though they aren't given any focus. In the English version however, there is none.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The final season is somewhat darker.
- Some characters end up with minor injuries during the final season. Nothing too serious happens.
- None in a lot of episodes.
- Mild scary moments in episode 19 involving very creepy looking ghosts. This may be frightening to younger viewers.
