The first thing you notice when you peer tentatively into a serene botanic garden is a pair of wedding crashers doing cartwheels in the buff. “I heard there was a naked wedding,” one of them tells a guest, “and I was like, ‘I’m going to be there.’” Funny, you thought the same thing when VH1 announced that Dating Naked—the only show on TV that features love-seeking singles (and/or one-night grandstanders) throwing caution and clothing to the wind—would film the nude nuptials of two contestants. You read that right: a brave couple were going to exchange vows...

Yet another classic party game is finally making its way to a video game console. But whereas the digital versions of standards like Monopooly and Scrabble all resemble exactly what one might have imagined, it's difficult to conceive what Spin The Bottle is like. After-all, it's all about sitting in a circle, spinning a glass receptacle, and kissing someone who is either hot or not.
Well, for starters, Spin The Bottle, as re-envisioned by developer KnapNok, doesn't rely so much on graphics. It also doesn't rely much on kissing either.
The trailer shows a bunch of games that one might play with a bunch of friends, mostly physical activities, but which apparently are facilitated by Wii Remotes and orchestrated by the Wii U GamePad:
According to KnapNok's Lau Korsgaard, when speaking with Joystiq:

Earlier this morning Nintendo came out with a 'mini' Direct video in which they talked about some updates to the Wii U, but the major announcement is that Earthbound is availble to play on the Wii U virtual console...right now. Today. Play it.
Well isn't this a pleasant surprise? While we've known that Nintendo was planning on bringing their beloved Snes RPG Earthbound to the Wii U Virtual Console (much to the delight of fans everywhere), but we weren't sure when we'd be getting the game in our hands. Today, Nintendo shocked everyone by releasing the Virtual Console game today for only $9.99!
So if you don't see me posting anything else on the site today, you can blame (or thank?) Nintendo for it. They announced a few other minor updates, which you can check out in the accompanying press release:

Today is the 15th anniversary of the premiere of Sex and the City, which had many lesbian connections, characters and scenes throughout its six-year run on HBO. Out designer Patricia Field famously handled the wardrobe for the inspired fashion on the show and actress Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) came out as being in a lesbian relationship in 2004.
So we're counting down the most lesbian moments to be a part of the Satc franchise, which has also included two feature-length films.
1. Miranda gets set up with a softball player (Season 1, Episode 3)
Miranda's law firm thinks she's into women, so they set her up with Syd (Joanna Adler), who really does bat for our team. Even though she's not gay, Miranda desperately wants to be invited to the couples' dinner parties her boss throws, so she brings Syd as her date. Unfortunately,...

Ellen Page has never been one to play it safe, whether that means taking on the role of a murderous teen ("Hard Candy"), a super mutant ("X-Men: The Last Stand"), or a dream architect ("Inception"). Her latest film, "The East," is a drama about eco-anarchists and an undercover investigator (Brit Marling) who grows increasingly attached to them. Izzy (Page) and the other members of The East live off the grid in a crumbling mansion in the woods; they gather their food from dumpsters (a practice known as freeganism), bathe in a nearby lake, and play Spin the Bottle by candlelight for fun. It never helps when a half-decent indie horror film is saddled with a title that's confusing, generic, or vague. There is an endless amount of solid (or at least decent) horror indies to be found on Amazon, iTunes, and Netflix -- so one could be forgiven for confusing "Truth or Dare" with "Truth or Die" or for mistaking "Would You Rather" with "Did You Know" or perhaps "Spin the Bottle." (How has there not been a horror film called "Spin the Bottle" yet??) Anyway, all of this is a hopefully amusing way to open a review with the opinion that, yes, the strange, savage, and appreciably dark Would You Rather is considerably more interesting than its (confusing/vague/generic) title may indicate.
The phrase "Would You Rather," as you probably know, is a reference to a game teenagers play. ("Would you rather kiss Janie or.... lick a dog's food bowl?...

Confession time, y'all: I have no idea what the f*ck is going on. This week's American Horror Story: Asylum has had the effect on my wee brain of a Jolt Cola-sponsored 48-hour horror movie marathon held in an operating steel mill. I'm no longer able to discern heroes from villains, the dead from the living, or a fake Boston accent from a real German one.
Asylum, you have finally broken me with these four simple, yet impossibly beautiful, words:
We begin with a bit of background nunsense: two smiling nursing sisters titter about Lilies of the Field as they arrive for their shift through Briarcliff's front doors. I'm half expecting them to punch a clock on the way in as a sheepdog punches himself out. ("Mornin', Sam." "Mornin', Sister.") They arrive in the medical ward, where a very grey, very sweaty Grace (Lizzie Brochere) lies barely conscious under a sheet.

I’m a huge fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer…
Wow, I must’ve thrown you off guard there for a moment. I say that first statement because my love of that show led me into my subsequent love of Angel. I wouldn’t have given it a fair shake but because I’ve been proven wrong before, I popped on the series premiere and I liked it but I felt it needed improving. So, I watched the entire series run of Angel, sometimes four or five episodes at a time. And man, there were some absolute standouts among them all. I really didn’t see any great episodes from the beginning but the episodes started to pick up after the season two premiere and just went on from there. I handpicked my top five and here we go:
And obviously, spoilers lie beyond here.

The big question on MTV’s comedy Awkward has always been: Team Matty or Team Jake? And that big debate for Jenna (Ashley Rickards) will still be front and center in the show’s season finale, titled “The Other Shoe,” which is set to air tonight.

Saturday was the first day of the 2012 London Olympics, but it was also the start of some wildly insane times inside the Big Brother 14 house as Wil celebrated his birthday. The night involved skimpy costumes, streaking by two guys, body shots and a salacious game of Spin the Bottle which resulted in Ashley kissing three different men, all from the same team. It's the kind of fun-filled night that makes watching Big Brother After Dark totally worth it.

With films like Star Trek and Transformers on their combined resumes, actor Chris Pine and screenwriter Alex Kurtzman have become men of power in the Hollywood blockbuster scene. After working together on the successful Star Trek reboot (which Kurtzman co-wrote with frequent collaborator Roberto Orci), the two have reunited for a much more personal film, People Like Us. Though it features a concept that almost seems like fantasy (choosing what to do with the revelation of an abandoned sibling), this movie features no guns, no robots, and no explosions.
Along with this film, Kurtzman and Pine are currently working on the untitled Star Trek sequel, due out next summer. On top of this, Kurtzman and Orci have started scripting a sequel to the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man reboot.

Day 3 in the Big Brother house, and the sexual tension seems to have already bubbled over. Daniel Radcliffe, as sweet and talented as he is, had a rough go of it hosting this weekend's very subpar episode of Saturday Night Live. Radcliffe did have two successful bits, featuring two very unlucky characters: Casey Anthony.s new dog, and a Spin the Bottle player with rotten luck. Let.s relive the (lack of) magic!

Sadly, I had high hopes for the Daniel Radcliffe hosted "SNL" this past weekend. Then again, that's what I get for envisioning how good a show should be based on the host. Never again! However, I saw "21 Jump Street" last week and Channing Tatum, who hosts on Feb. 4, does seem to have an unexpected knack for comedy that I wasn't expecting ... There I go again!
There were 14 segments to go around and only 13 cast members (I'm convinced Andy Samberg wasn't there) -- so, plenty of airtime to go around. Then again, there was one cast member who was in almost all of them...
1. Kristen Wiig (Last Week: 6) Wiig was everywhere this week, so, no surprises here! That's not to say that I enjoyed everything she did this week, but, yes, her presence was pretty undeniable. Target Lady had been in storage for a long time and, for whatever reason, she was brought back.

Well, that was disappointing. I learned long ago never to get too caught up with prognosticating the quality of a show based on its host. But, yeah, this time I felt pretty sure about things. "Oh, Daniel Radcliffe has so much stage experience, plus he's just so charming -- this week will be great!" It was not meat to be. I mean, there were a lot of "Ok" sketches last night, but not a lot of moments that stand out. Which is a shame.
Also, quick question: where was Andy Samberg? He had a small role in one pre-taped segment, but I honestly don't think he was there last night. I even looked for him during the "good nights" -- nope. Alas, on to a disheartened scorecard...
Sketch of the Night

“I tried, and therefore, no one should criticize me.” That was one of the lines uttered by Daniel Radcliffe’s hopelessly ambitious character Brad during the people-with-no-self-awareness sketch “You Can Do Anything.” Still, the sentiment certainly applies to Radcliffe’s effort as a first-time Saturday Night Live host. While the show itself was certainly worthy of criticism (as was musical guest Lana Del Rey, but more on that in a bit) it’s hard to rag on The Woman in Black star, who gave it his all in spite of working with some rather subpar material. “Expecto, hilarium!” Pity poor Daniel Radcliffe, who without the benefit of any Harry Potter-style spells at his fingertips, was forced to make do with a mixed bag of sketches as he hosted this week’s Saturday Night Live.
Don’t blame Radcliffe for the lack of magic, though. Our top moments of the week:
11. Best Party: It may be her first house party, but Rachel Berry impresses her fellow glee clubbers — and, most importantly, "Blaine Warbler." In a drunken bid to prove to Finn she's not a "needy girl drunk," Rachel kisses the same-sex-oriented Blaine during a game of Spin the Bottle. And this being Glee, the two express their affection with a charged-up duet cover of Human League's "Don't You Want Me."
10. Music to Our Ears Award: While packing up to return the karaoke machine he got for tone-deaf Gloria on Modern Family, Jay decides to give the ol' thing a...

Glee did a brave thing in last night’s episode. It was controversial and polemic and a lot of people were offended by it from what I have read around the internet. However, I have to say it worked. They treated a delicate subject very well and with a very, very funny approach.
“Blame it on the alcohol” discussed the problem with underage drinking. It all started because Rachel wanted inspiration to write a song for Regionals and decides to throw a party so she can “live a little”. That fact served as foundation for all the other subplots of the episode. Blaine and Rachel kissed, which caused her to develop a massive crush on him and for him to question if he really is gay. And it made Kurt insanely jealous.
After the party, Kurt drove a very drunk Blaine home and let him crash in his bed. The next morning,...

For our musical recap of the 'Blame It on the Alcohol' episode, we got really into the spirit of things.

This week's "Glee" seems to have inspired a one-man party here in the MTV Newsroom. After Rachel's wild party, our own Jim Cantiello seems to have hit the sauce and, well, to quote Jamie Foxx, if you can't follow along with this song, blame it on the alcohol.
Rachel Berry's dads left her alone in a big empty house.
They're off on Rosie's gay cruise.
Her songwriting sucks, she says, "Aw shucks, I live like a church mouse;
It's time for me to drink some booze."
They play Spin the Bottle,
Rachel and Blaine kiss.
His loins start to throttle,
Does it mean he's into misses?
Kurt freaks out 'cause his buddy who's out
Now might...

If it weren’t for the booze, this “Blame It on the Alcohol” episode would have been Part 1 of the Rachel Berry party: a snoozefest. Umm, yeah, we gotta leave, we have dinner reservations.
But instead they cut loose, got “slizzard” and drove home a message of responsible drinking without hitting you over the head with it. And boy, was it needed.

*****Warning******* Contains major spoilers for Glee and Kurt (Chris Colfer)'s storyline. Please keep spoilers out of your subject lines in the comments.
Is that a Dalton school uniform?
The title of the next episode of Glee is "Never Been Kissed" and it's less than two weeks from now, on November 9. It's going to be an eventful episode for Kurt. So what do we know?
Someone is getting expelled from school, and it's not Puck (Mark Salling). Based on the preview, Kurt is going to a private school, with spiffy uniforms (in picture above). That's not a hard set of dots to connect.
We also know that Blaine (Darren Criss) is an out, proud student who goes to the Dalton private school for boys. It's there that he meets Kurt and befriends him.
So we know that Blaine is someone for Kurt to look up to, and he's been through the rain.

"Bachelor Pad" introduced two interesting facets this week -- a Kissing Contest and Fantasy Suites.
Voting Aftermath
Gia calls Nikki out in front of the entire house for flipping from Kiptyn to Craig. Gia completely blames Nikki, which is a bit rich since if she had stuck to the rose plan and not given into Country Wes-tern, Craig would still be there and "The Outsiders" would still have the numbers.
Hope Your Shots are Current
The competition this episode is a Kissing Contest. Wow. Everybody has to kiss everybody else (the kissees are blindfolded) and then they vote on the best male and best female kissers. Hilariously, everybody thinks they're going to win -- because everybody thinks they're a good kisser. Everybody always thinks that -- and it rarely proves true.
The girls are blindfolded first and Elizabeth is creepily commenting and moaning while she gets kissed. She then...

As we eagerly await the launch of the big screen version of “Battleship,” (okay, that’s a lie, we’re holding out for a brooding Kristen Stewart in the economic meltdown-themed thriller “Monopoly”), we couldn’t help but notice that “Star Trek” genius J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot shingle is developing a thriller based on the teenage party game “Seven Minutes in Heaven.”
Okay, we know there was already an indie flick called “Spin the Bottle” that came out in 2000 about five childhood friends getting together for a weekend of flirting and fighting. And Madonna technically lifted the title “Truth or Dare” for a concert film. But could rec room kissing games be the next hot genre now that sitcom remakes and toy-based flicks are hitting bottom? (Sorry “Small Wonder” and Wacky WallWalkers)

I'll be honest: I never played "7 Minutes in Heaven" as a kid. I think I was just a little too nerdy for that. ("Seven minutes in heaven?? Is there a Super Nintendo in there?!") I may have played "Spin the Bottle" once but if I remember correctly it ended with just a rather clammy handshake. So my experiences were a little on the boring side but Jj Abrams has a much more exciting spin on the smooching games. He and frequent "Lost" director Jack...

We've all played games with the opposite sex growing up. From Doctor to Spin the Bottle to even simply just I'll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours. But what if one of those playful little games turned deadly? What if 7 Minutes in Heaven could lead you straight to hell?
According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog Jj Abrams (pictured right) and his Bad Robot shingle are developing a thriller based on the teenage game of making out in the closet.
The project, named after the game 7 Minutes in Heaven, comes from an original idea by Jack Bender, who most recently directed the final episode of ABC’s “Lost.”
While plot details are being suppressed, it is known to focus on two teens who go into a closet as part of the titular game and find all their friends dead when they come back out.
That'll learn those young horny pricks!

3Oh!3 have a huge hit on their hands with “My First Kiss,” featuring Ke$ha! Can you believe Nathaniel Motte & Sean Foreman nabbed Ke$ha even before we heard her for the first time on Flo Rida’s single, “Right Round”? Little did they know what they were getting themselves into? Fox All Access host, Chris Leary, caught up with Nat of 3Oh!3 to talk about their catchy song and naturally, he had to ask the guys about their first kiss. Nat couldn’t remember his, although Sean, who had braces back then, got lucky when a hot girl was dared to kiss him while playing Spin the Bottle. Perhaps Nat’s first smooch wasn’t so memorable, but he does remember meeting Ke$ha for the first time…..she roughed up the guys pretty good and Nat didn’t mind one bit. Were you one of the lucky winners of our Joss Whedon Day prize pack? Then you managed to snag a shiny new copy of “Firefly: Still Flying,” a collection of stories and essays by the cult show’s former writers. Don’t get tetchy, though – the book hits stores this week and we chatted with Jose Molina, writer of one of the stories in the collection, and two of the thirteen Firefly episodes that ever saw air. Oh, and just how he managed to get Nathan Fillion butt nekkid:
Ugo: Let’s talk about Firefly – how’d you get hooked up with the show in the first place?
Jose Molina: As I've said before: "The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Jose, was to write for Firefly.

Having been made aware of an intellectual property conflict, Annex Theatre is canceling its upcoming production of Hot Pants. The show was previously set to run from October 30th to November 20th.
Hot Pants! was set to run every Friday and Saturday night. Four local performers tell their own autobiographical story -- but one of them is lying. Then a panel of five, randomly selected audience members gets to interrogate the storytellers to see if they can figure out who's the liar. Everyone who guesses correctly wins a prize.
Conceived and curated by Troy Mink (Carlotta's Late Night Wingding, The Haint) and Bret Fetzer (director of Penguins, curator of Spin the Bottle). Hot Pants! was to be hosted by Troy Mink and will feature the Hot Pants Dancers, choreographed by Jen Moon and Meg Tully!
