Hot girls, dreadful film

"Carlito's Angels" is a spoof of "Charlie's Angels" that is not afraid to spoof even itself at times, however that does not mean that the film is above criticism by the viewers as well - it is amateurish and juvenile (I think "fast-motion" stopped being funny around 1914). The assaulting rap music often drowns out the dialogue, and the film feels longer than it is, even though it runs barely over an hour! The girls themselves are hot & adorable, with wonderful lean bodies, and even though they never get naked, their outfits leave little to the imagination. By checking out their IMDb pages, I found out that one of them (Alessandra Ramos) is actually going through with a film career; I wish her luck, because although this film is bad, she (as well as the other girls) gave it whatever energy it has and I wouldn't mind at all seeing her again on the screen. This movie was horrible. The concept presented a lot of potential. I was hoping it would be in the same flavor as "I like it like that." Now that was a good movie. Carlito's Angels was garbage. I can't imagine anyone other than a high school guy enjoying it. I mean, other than the eye candy, there was nothing good about it. Five minutes into the movie I had to know how long it would be. Five minutes later I figured I'd give it another 15 and see if I could last all 80 minutes. After a few more minutes I just couldn't continue to subject myself to all that nonsense. I don't know how it ended, nor do I care. If you really must watch this movie, throw back a few shots to dull your brain cells and maybe, just maybe, you'll find it somewhat enjoyable.

Funny low budget movie

If you don't appreciate low budget independent cinema this film is not for you. The director Augustin did an excellent job with the resources he had.

I think the concept is great; Charlie's angels in the hood. The girls were great and really funny, they just needed a better script.

Some parts drag a bit, but you can tell it is one of the director's first projects. You have to appreciate what he is trying to do with a very low budget.If you are Hispanic, there are plenty of inside jokes you will enjoy.

I would like to see what Augustin can do with a better script and a bigger budget. I look forward to seeing his future work.

It is definitely worth a look. I gave it a good 5.

Worse than bad

I thought that this movie might be a good spoof, or at least a good independent comedy like Friday. Instead it was more like something someone in high school would make with their parents' camcorder. It wasn't just the low budget that makes this film bad (many great films have been made on a low budget), it is simply a bad movie and it wasn't even bad enough to be good camp. Case in point: for the first ten minutes of the movie nothing happens except the 3 main characters sit in their room smoking dope, put on their makeup, and then answer a phone call. You keep waiting for something to get story moving, but it never comes. The sound was so bad I had to turn the TV up all the way just to almost make out what they were saying (which wasn't interesting anyways). If I pay to rent a movie I will usually suffer through it even when it's bad, but it was all I could do to sit through 20 minutes. It looks like the person before me felt the same way because they didn't rewind the tape and left off about the same place I did. The only reason I gave this a score of 1 is because the rating system doesn't have negative numbers.

Worst Movie

The opening scene really got me into watching the movie. However, not more than 5 minutes later, I was already gouging my eyes out. Not only could I not understand a word that was said, the acting could have been better by a group of mentally handicapped. The one highlight of this movie was that there was a punk white midget. However, I didn't quite get the connection on how a white midget was the child of two African Americans. But I guess anything is possible. Also, why the hell was Robin in the movie? I'm not sure that it added anything artistically. Overall, I would strongly recommend you jump off a cliff before you rent this movie.

Funny

The sound on this movie is kinda distracting. but the girls were funny, they're really good actresses, It was cool to see the behind the scenes video, and see that they are not really anything like their characters. It looked like they had fun making this movie. and the girl who played marisol, is hot, well they are all hot, but, she looked mad hot with the afro puffs.

THIS MOVIE IS FUNNY. The girls are really hot, and the more you watch it the funnier it gets, really, they also have a super cool web site with some awesome drawings... They sell you the artwork of these sexy ladies as posters... its cool .. I got one... i recommend this film.

Girl Power

You have to be a woman to know what a great feat it actually is to scale down a high rise fire escape in a mini skirt and heels. This movie is funny, and the best part about it, is that it is a girl power movie. If you can get passed the sex- ploitation cover, you will find this movie is actually a hilarious girl power flick, that's actually more fun the second time around.

I can't believe I liked this movie as much as I did. I really wanted to rip it apart, and in many ways I could, bad sound, shallow plot and one dimensional characters, but I just found myself laughing out loud, several times and really having a good time.

THIS MOVIE IS THE BOMB!

Yo, This is probably one of the funniest movies about the Spanish hood I have ever seen. Yeah the budget is low and all that. But this movie is so crazy funny because its real. If you havent lived it, you just dont know. I mean Man, When Carlito's calls the girls on the payhone in the corner store, collect! That is Crazy... and when they dip out on the car without paying. Yo this movie is phenomenal, They did their thing with this film for real. we need more latinos doing things like these. This movie is Funny!!!

I am 43 years old. I remember the original Charlie's Angels. This movie was more similar to it than the big budget film with Drew, Cameron and Lucy. Carlito's Angels was a fantastic spoof of the original, plus the nudity you wished was in the old series! I realize Hollywood is running out of original ideas, but instead of stealing a title of an old show,and trying to redo it, they should make more spoofs. Just look at the Naked Gun movies. I thought they sucked! But, they had big budgets and big names. Carlito's Angels should do a sequel!! With a bigger budget, a more experienced director, and better promotion of it, it should be great!!

wow i can't believe it, but yes i can. Being i have had the experience of knowing what you're truly like to work/hang with. i'm happy to have seen this on the shelf at the video store. I think the movie was awesome... "just follow my name and you'll find me"!... I look forward to seeing more of your work, ''Agustin'' alone is not easy to follow on the internet, you may want to use IMDb more often, they really are a golden ticket to being seen, being heard. - if it wasn't for them i would've never found your movies. i see your moving quickly and i am extremely proud of your accomplishments, the cover of the movie was a great choice. Definitely funny.
