This movie by and far features the most fan service of any Lupin movie, with several scenes featuring Fujiko Mine topless, and a scene of a nude Lara bathing. Also, it's notable for being the only film with a Lupin/Fujiko sex scene that doesn't get interrupted on-camera. FUNimation created an edited version of the film because of these concerns, although the full uncut version was also made available. When FUNimation later re-released Twilight Gemini as part of the "First Haul" box set, they accidentally issued it with the edited version. An uncut copy replacement was made available to those who had purchased the edited version, and the mistake was corrected in later releases.
The eighth Lupin the 3rd TV Movie.
In the Morocco nightclub scene, Fujiko has blond hair (which she had throughout the movie) and a white dress, an homage to Marilyn Monroe, who wore a similar dress in that now famous picture of her holding her skirt while she was standing on a vent on the sidewalk.
Goemon doesn't appear until 46 minutes 46 seconds within the TV special.
Originally, Don Dalune was going to be Arsene Lupin, the hero of Maurice Leblanc's stories, which means that both Lara and Lupin III are his grandchildren, and Lara is either Lupin's sister or his cousin. However, NTV was aware of copyright issues and told writer Hideki Mitsui that the two Lupins can not be connected. The final script only has a slight hint, when Don Dalune calls Lupin "Baby" ("Loopy" in the English dub).
