Pong

Its Pong, you can't go wrong! The first commercially successful game ever made, it was ground breaking back in the day, and it still holds up really well. One of the best games ever made.

"Beep...boop!" Aw, sweet old Pong, we'll never forget you! X

Warning: Spoilers
It's very understandable how your video game player can take one look at this rustic milestone of gaming today and wonder how on earth it ever did well. However I'm betting that most of them probably don't realise that they actually have a lot to thank this little barest of bones game for, because in 1972 it changed the entertainment world. Often considered to be the first ever commercial video game, Pong's premise is simplicity itself, in that two players compete against each other in a simple overhead table tennis match. The game inspired many other companies to take notice, and create Pong clones, which in return forced Atari to begin creating better more complex games, effectively beginning the video game industry. Say what you will, but without humble Pong, there would arguably be no video games as we know them today. And for me at least that's what the 10 is for, the historic value appreciation and nostalgia, rather than what it is today. It does have a little special place in my heart, back when I was really little I can remember how me and my big brother had a lot of fun times together playing it... To Pong!!!

Something So Simple

Pong, based on the virtual game ping-pong which is based on the virtual game tennis. You hit a ball back and forth with your opponent. Now how can something so simple like that be so much fun? I have the old Radio Shack pong game from the 70's and its just as fun today with the old fashioned controls and the old sound affects and graphics. It really takes you back. Pong is known as the world's oldest video game. It is. I think a good idea would be to have a newer, more updated Pong with newer graphics and newer sound affects. Still wouldn't be that much to the game, just bouncing ball from one side of the screen to the other, but it would be just as fun.

The First Video Game Ever

Rated E.

Pong is one of if not the first video game ever made.Released in 1972 for the Atari.I live in Canada and one day in my cereal I found a CD called Atari The 80 Classic Games.Pong was one of the games on it.That CD is probably the only place you can find any Atari game. There is no plot to the game and because its the first video game ever it will not excel in Graphics or Gameplay. The game is very simple. You are one paddle and the CPU is another paddle. There is a ball which goes back and forth and the objective is you must make the CPU miss. Each time the CPU misses you get a point and likewise. The one who has the most points wins.Pong was a revolutionary game when it first came out.Now its dated of course but if you can find it its pretty fun to play.

The First Popular Video Game
disaia-12 April 2017
There were other video games before Pong, but Pong was the first most people had ever seen. By today's standards it's pretty simple and boring, but when it first came out, everybody was amazed by it. You had to stand in line to play it. I remember the console was so jammed with quarters you couldn't fit another in. It's funny thinking back at how mesmerized we all were by it.

The Video Game Industry is something that I love, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are complete geniuses, but let's not forget one of the first to popularize the Industry, Atari! This console from the 70s was a great innovation for its time , although the NES would later take away the title and at the same time, it would make Nintendo great, Atari would remain in the hearts of those people who played on an Atari.

This was one of the First Video Games in History, Pong tries to Move a Line from Up to Down and try not to get hit with a pixel that I suppose is a Ball, basically you are playing Ping Pong but in a slower way, Boring and without Grace, but I respect the incredible legacy that this game left, from what I see, many of the first video games were about sports, cars, athletics etc, it is interesting how we went from Sports to Games with Plots worthy of a Trilogy of Movies.

Honestly despite its Great Legacy, this is a Boring, Monotonous game and it doesn't have much in particular, you quickly realize the little charm of it, but certainly this was a great evolution in its time.

For everything I said before, Pong gets a 5.

Very primitive and boring, yet so addictive...
Dr_Death66617 May 2009
This is a very simple game, the first popular video game. The concept is that you move a paddle and hit the ball to the CPU or another player. The first to score 11 points wins. Very simplistic and boring. This game is addictive for about an hour, but after that you'll be bored with it, yet oddly it is not as boring as 1984's Duck Hunt, especially since all you do is move the paddle around. Play this only if you get the chance, otherwise you're not missing out on much at all, unless you're really into really old old school games, and even if you are you'll be bored with this.
