It was somewhat OK, but needed more planning.

Warning: Spoilers
So yesterday I was watching another show until I got bored so then by accident I flipped to this channel that had Arthur's missing pal on. So I chose to watch it. The storyline needed some work because a story about looking for a lost dog was not as original as I thought it would be. And to make matters worse there was already an Arthur episode about when Arthur lost pal. The 3-d art rendering could of been better because for a split 2 seconds I saw D.W talking without her mouth moving making it unsynchronized. As for my opinion on this movie, if you like those detective episodes like furn then maybe this movie could be for you.

My rating: 5.0/10.0

Not a Great Direct to Video Movie!
sandlot199214 April 2020
As a child i watch Arthur back when it was on PBS kids and still enjoy the Arthur books at my local library. now that i'm older I never realized there was a direct to video movie based on the lovable Aardvark and it's about him and his friends finding his dog Pal and to be honest, the story needs more attention, the animation looks so cheesy and even some of the voice actors including Daniel Brochu who voiced Buster Baxter and Bruce Dinsmore who voiced Binky and Arthur's Dad and the plot is similar to the Spongebob Squarepants episode "Have you seen this Snail?". and so this has to be a lousy and dreadful direct to video movie to one of the most beloved characters of the Show from our Childhood!

Vomitrocious!

Warning: Spoilers
Oh my FREAKING HECK! HOW COULD THEY DO THIS?! *Sigh* sorry. Let me calm down. This movie is just so bad. A bigger blow to Lionsgate's name than Akeelah And The Bee. First of all, this animation is some of the absolute WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN! NOT ONLY IS IT BAD, BUT IT IS FOODFIGHT BAD. There is one scene where Arthur gets hit with a water balloon, but it doesn't eve look like it hit him. Looks like it just exploded in mid air in front of his face. Anyways, I'm getting ahead of myself. Maybe the story is good? NO! This plot had been done before in one Arthur episode called "Arthur's Lost Dog" only with better animation and story and music and characters and EVERYTHING! They obviously made an effort to hire most of the original voice actors for this movie, but the characters they couldn't get the original voice actors for sound like really (and I mean REALLY) bad impersonations. Heck, they can't even get the colors of the shirts certain characters wear. Sorry, movie, but Binky wears an ORANGE shirt in the TV show, not this weird purple plaid thingy you've got him in. Also, there's one scene at the very beginning where the music goes all David Lynch on us for 5 seconds (Of Summer?) for absolutely no reason whatsoever. And the pay off was even worse. Obviously, the person that wrote this doesn't really know MUCH about these characters other than that Buster is a klutz and D.W. is a little brat and Brain is smart. It's almost like the same people that have been writing seasons 13-17 also wrote this movie. But it completely fails to miss the spirit of the show and the characters. And that is probably why I hate this so much, because it taints one of my favorite shows, not only from childhood, but of ALL TIME! A poor representation of a great franchise. Honestly, if I saw this before I saw any of the Arthur TV show, I would have never gone near anything associated with Arthur ever again! Update: I have done my research and found that Ken Scarbourough had written this film. Ken has written several episodes, some of them being very good! So, I can only deduce that when it came to writing a full-length movie, it was just too much. He is used to writing just 11 minute episodes, so I retract any comments I've made. Wait, he also has done the crappy episodes from recent seasons?!? Nevermind.

A mediocre movie based on a mediocre show
dobbsosaiah19 May 2020
What more can I say other than that? This film has almost no redeeming qualities, as the animation is ugly, the voice acting sucks, the story is unoriginal, and the runtime isn't even feature length. Apparently, this was released in theaters in select cites in addition to being a home video release, but who actually went out to see this and sat through the whole thing without walking out of the cinema? This is Arthur's first and currently only feature film, and I may have been interested in a film franchise, but after seeing this, I don't ever want to see another Arthur movie again.

And one more thing that I've observed, I believe it was released in select theaters just so it would be eligible for being nominated for what I believe was "Best Picture, Sound, and Quality." I don't quite remember, but the fact that it was nominated for anything along the likes of actual real films like Ice Age 2 baffles me. This movie is not worth your time.

this was a mutty mess
ThunderKing627 February 2021
It was nothing like the original animation.

It was about Arthur and gang trying to find his dog.

So corny The 3d was trash. Characters were lame. Story was uninteresting

What was the point of this product?

What can be learned? 3D animation sucks unless you are Toy Story.

Verdict: Horrible experience.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a Really Big fan of Arthur! and Always will be as Marc Brown's Legacy lives on! This was a Sad movie because of Pal running away missing and Arthur and his Friends go look for him. After Arthur forgot to feed him and Let him outside Poor Pal.. and D.W. is still not my Favorite character Still the Same Annoying little Brat obsessed with Mary Moo Cow. and David and Jane still great Parents and Kate still an Infant child. the Only characters to appear in the movie was Buster, Binky, Francine, Muffy and Prunella. Wow okay and Also the Tibble twins make an Appearance in the movie too. but oh well. and Luckliy at the End Arthur succeeds and Gets Pal back from a Truck Driver Lady with the Mary Moo Cow Truck and Returns him Back Home! Because i was scared at first Arthur wasn't gonna see Pal again! but phew! what a Happy Ending! but Thank god Arthur is the Longest Running PBS kids show and Been On For Years! Love it Love It Love it! Alot

But Overall this Movie was not that bad it was Decent. For 2006 Animation. 7\10

I hope Arthur NEVER ends
wakemans2510 September 2006
Well, as soon as this movie came out I began wondering, maybe Arthur is coming to an end!! I really would not like that at all. This movie is great, it isn't the best storyline, but the graphics more then make up for it. I still need to buy this when I see it out. Arthur is so cute, and it is so well done. (yea, it seems I'm hitting on Arthur) I recommend this movie to anyone who likes the show or anyone who hasn't seen Arthur before as well. Heck, START watching Arthur because it is a great show. I really wish they came out with season DVDs because they are some of the best shows-that older kids can relate to and understand as well. Now, maybe they can fast forward and do a movie about Arthur finishing high school and starting college. That could be interesting...
