The waste of time.
vsevolod-ukrainsky19 November 2012
The move is really awful. Happily I wasted just 15 minutes of my time instead of watching the whole crappy move. The actors are really false. As the Great Stanislavsky would have said: "I do not believe!" IMDb wants me to put at least 10 lines of the review but I really have no idea what to say about this move.

Well... I will spend a few minutes more to share my mind: when you shoot a move about WWII -- about Soviet people struggling for their land, about Polish people: let them speak their languages! The Pole must speak Polish, whilst Belarus and Russians shall speak Russian. It is so natural! But when uneducated Soviet border keeper speaks English it is FALSE!

Absolutely Awful
jnarino-19 March 2007
This has been one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. The actors were the worst, they looked really fake. The war scenes were also awful and the plot was very badly developed and executed. There are tons of historical inaccuracies, I repeat, it is completely awful this movie.

As if it did not where enough, the way the plot is unfolded leaves us wondering, who wrote this?. Also, is the typical movie where everybody speaks English, the russians, the Americans, the Germans speak in English.

Stay away from this movie!.

A graphic look at the Eastern Front, tied to a love story that seems improbable.

Warning: Spoilers
A Soviet army officer, an American singer, and a young boy are trying to get to safety after the German army has invaded during WWII.

The effects and the filming of this movie are simply amazing. You really get the feeling that you are in a panic, running through the woods from murderers that you have already seen commit the most horrendous crimes imaginable.

The actors do a very good job, and you end up liking them a lot, but the characters they have to play seem a bit unreal. They all look a bit too unscathed by what they have gone through, and at times seem capable of the most brilliant feats imaginable, while at other times they do some downright silly stuff.

Clearly anti-Nazi, this movie is fairly anti-Soviet as well. The Russian people are shown as good, and kind, and caring. The army, however, is seen as incompetent The beginning of the movie is incredibly disturbing and seems to be an accurate account of what SS units did upon finding Jewish villages on the eastern front. After seeing it, it will be in your mind for a long time
