The Smith Family movie was about a man named Steve Smith who was Mormon and gay. The biggest points about the movie was that he was dying of AIDS and his relation with his family. In a very prudent community standards are set that people are expected to live by. But when somebody breaks those standards they can be ostracized from the community. This is the story of family love and redemption how death can affect us all, and how family can help relive the burden of death. That most in the community forgave and reconciled, but others kept their distance. The thing that touched me in the story was the sadness of the family and how the church didn't help. Also how his wife Kim was supportive of him even though he had cheated on her with men. She had become the binding bond in the house even when she struggled with her own battle of AIDS. This movie is a true story of reconciliation.

A movie of true love and forgiveness

This movie was one for the record! The act of love, forgiveness and kindness that this movie portrayed was one that is all to often not seen or even heard of. When you see this unbelievable family move from pain to forgiveness it makes you realize the true meaning of unconditional love. After watching this documentary it made me analyze my life and see what really matters and that is the family that is created from love and marriage. The rest of your family or friends can turn their backs on you or not agree with what you stand for but when your spouse and children stand by you no matter what then you are truly blessed beyond words. I think this is a movie everyone should watch and hopefully learn the same lesson I learned from this remarkable film!
