Future cult movie, 13 June 2004
Author: jlon from Dublin

Apart from a few Oscar-winning exceptions, the musical like the western seems to have died out in recent years.

On the run from a drugs dealer two dim dreamers hide out in a nightclub by impersonating drag queens.

Most of the great songs from the old movie and stage musicals are here. Reynolds make a special appearance. Collette is certainly a versatile actress. She's also currently appearing in the completely different Japanese Story. I reckon that Connie And Carla could become another Rocky Horror cult/camp movie with the audience members singing along to the songs. But why didn't they include some of those Ruby Keeler numbers from the '30s? Funny enjoyable farcical movie. The two leads make a great team. Good companion piece to Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.

Connie and Carla is a real audience friendly movie.
