Realistic depiction of problem of Chinese legal system
zzmale28 November 2003
The real theme behind this film is the exploration of the relationship between greater freedom and public safety. As more and more personal freedom has been granted in the rise of economic wealth, China is facing with the problem of lawlessness. The backwardness of the legal system of old era could not effectively deal with the post Maoist era economical and social development, and public safety is at risk in exchange of greater freedom.
