Totally captivating - a perfectly cast lead makes this effortlessly enjoyable

A girl in her mid twenties is interviewed by a documentary maker. He asks her about love and she details several of the main relationships she has been in but yet still finds herself looking for that perfect someone that will be the love of her life.

In the wrong hands this film could easily have been a little too mushy and romantic. It looks at the diverse relationships a woman has had as she pursues her idea of a perfect love. The dialogue occasionally shows how terrible this COULD have been by dropping the odd line that is a bit cheesy but it overcomes this well.

The direction of the various segments is clever and well done - different for each one but still holding together. The film is clever and involving but it owes a huge debt to the casting process. The lead actress is, and I can't stress this enough, PERFECT for the role. She makes the whole thing work. She is so natural and bubbly that I was instantly engaged in her character (covering the odd iffy line). I can't imagine a better person in the lead - She totally took the audience with her.

Overall this could have been sappy but so many factors make it so much better than that. The direction is good and the lead actress is perfectly cast, beautiful and natural. This short is just like a ray of sunshine and I cannot stress how worth while it is to track it down.
