One of the worst movies i've seen
scottgrib17 December 2002
This ranks down there as one of the worst movies ever. My freind got me this DVD as a joke, and i'll admit i laughed at the movie a whole lot... but because it's just so bad. The best part of the movie was the music, which wasn't even good. The ending was horrible, absolutly one of the worst endings ever. Don't waist you're time unless you've got nothin better to do than... no wait there's really nothin worse you could be doing.

ridiculously bad.

I must say, i saw this film the other day because my brother got it from god knows where, and it was shocking, in the worst imaginable way. it was rubbish, the music is bad, even if you like that kind of music, the camera shots are abysmal, the close ups are crap and usually out of focus and the dubbing is out of sync. ITS A CRAP FILM. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. its not scary but the rubbish quality will give you nightmares- seriously. If you do see this movie then you are an idiot, because we gave you plenty of warning. Mark these words, they are words of sense- the film sucks, its crap, rubbish, awful, abysmal, shocking, and any other bad word you can think of. its all of those times by 1,000,000+

Bottom 100, here we come

Warning: Spoilers
WOW, WOW, WOW. Urban Massacre fulfilled my deepest fears and desires with it's crass racial stereotypes, awful direction, terrible kills. And it's also features one of the most obnoxious, yet hilarious cast of characters ever to grace a slasher film.

Urban Massacre from the first opening seconds hits you with it's crap production values and the dated late 90's rap video direction. Garbage, garbage editing. As in no effort. Coverage is minimal and is assembled without any hint of real consideration. The acting i would call naturalistic as everyone is basically playing themselves, but it seems themselves were lost a hell of a while ago before being captured in this towering underground achievement, biatch!!! So, what are we left with? Everyone is a caricature, a joke. Reality tv grade. Not an ounce of real personality to be seen here.

Urban Massacre is one step up from Albert Pyun's Urban Menace only as in that it did not give me eyestrain. There's not much to see as the lighting is ok. Nothing too distracting. Composition is pedestrian, but apart from the music segments, everything is clear, in focus, unbelievably as the camera moves! In some shots. No, Urban Massacre, if not shot on early plasticky digital video, would have looked the piece.

That's all the positive i can say though as Urban Massacre is painfully evident as the work of people who think highly of themselves, but little of anything else.

As the slasher film, the kills are pathetic and mostly off camera. The clown disguise is cliche and makes as much sense as the rest of this. God all mighty, i have to talk about the editing again.

It fails all the bloody time. The film is just below mediocre as long as there are no cuts, whatsoever. After those few respite seconds, we get dream sequences, pointless interview montages, colour filtered scene transitions and it's all some of the worst i've ever seen. IMDB bottom 100 guaranteed. The only reason why Urban Massacre is not on that once respectable list, is because less than three hundred people on one of the most popular movie related websites on the entire internet has claimed to have seen it.

Even if the excuse was to just be a promotional video for a record label's talents, that still wouldn't be good enough as it's all just terrible. Lyrics and beats are just as forgettable as the majority of the picture attached to it and Urban Massacre is good for nothing... more than one good laugh.

Urban Delight

Raging Nation Films has come out with movie #3, and each one just gets better and better! This is a movie full of laughs and suspense that will make you sit up on the edge of your seat until the very end. Don't watch this flick thinking it's going to be "Citizen Kane" or "Casablanca", classics to be sure, but rather dry and stuffy films full of people filling their stereotyped gender and race roles. "Urban Massacre" is one of the best of a new genre, a genre of movies about and in the middle of the hip-hop culture. Grab on to this new wave while you still can, because soon this film will be a "classic" in its own right!

Lame Horror story 1, Zero Budget Hip Hop, Hardcore Rap Comedy 5 - equals a 3?

I saw this usually lower-priced on used DVD listings and finally got around to buying it and checking it out. Didn't realize it was a horror-Hip Hop / Hardcore Rap movie until I read about it more and then viewed it.

There are two pretty distinct elements in the film, a zero-budget horror story and a goofy movie about a Rag-Tag Hip Hop / Hardcore Rap group trying to make it big in the 90's / 2000's.

I liked the Hip Hop and Hardcore rap story as I ended up growing up with 80's and 90's rappers in my youth.

Yes, it's zero-budget for production values for the most part and parts of the plot / ending are outrageously lame even for a movie like this.

A little bit of it even felt like an urban Scooby Doo type of slapstick live-action episode which I actually liked.

The time / flow / editing is about right for the movie, I wasn't bored at least not knowing what would come next.

The horror elements are pretty bad, almost comically bad as if completely intentional and they may have been. At least some better gore and humorous points could have been inserted too then. A few are tried - to mixed results already....

Hey, the owner of a New York pizzeria plays a mafia head and his restaurant is used in the movie, can't get more zero budget then that.......
