Modern Japanese western in the mountain.
searchanddestroy-115 December 2016
A plane crashed in the mountains and a female detective investigates. That's the scheme of this short Kinji Fukasaku's feature shot in a beautiful settings, and supported by a very good photography. And also a music score which could evoke Ennio Morricone. It is a tribute to the western, not really spaghetti one because this film was made in the early sixties, at the same time of the Italian western genre. It is quite watchable although being too much comedy like to be exciting. Not the best Fukasaku ever, of course, billions miles from what he did in the Yakuza style. This also a crime and adventure movie made for wide audiences.
