Nothing screams the holidays quite like Steven Seagal phoning in a performance. And while I’m not suggesting that’s the case with “Force of Execution,” the odds are definitely not on his side. Sorry, big guy. I’ve seen “Black Dawn,” “Out of Reach,” and “Out for a Kill” a little under a dozen times each. I know your game inside and out. Written by Richard Beattie and Michael Black and directed by Keoni Waxman, “Force of Execution” finds Seagal portraying a mob boss who eventually squares off against another gangster. At least he’s not playing a former military type who’s out to save the world this time around. That alone is worth a look, I suppose. Here’s how Anchor Bay describes the flick: Steven Seagal stars as mob kingpin Mr. Alexander, an old-school boss who rules his criminal empire with both nobility and brutality. But...

The news that Demi Moore is to play pioneering feminist Gloria Steinem is another hilarious example of miscasting
People will tell you Hollywood has run out of ideas, but in the area of casting it constantly innovates. How else to greet the news that Demi Moore will play Gloria Steinem in a forthcoming film? Seriously, how the hell else?
Demi will inhabit the role of the pioneering feminist and activist in Lovelace, a biopic of Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace, whose grim story Steinem exposed in a seminal magazine essay. Sad to say, though, the decision to cast Demi has been deemed a critical mistake – a perception not entirely dispelled by Demi's latest interview in the upcoming issue of Harper's Bazaar.
"What scares me," she explains in an interview to accompany various shots of her in swimwear and evening dresses, "is that I'm going to ultimately find out at the...

Just in case you didn't know, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World comes out next week. The hype train for Edgar Wright's latest has been running full speed ahead for months now, but here's a new batch of goodies to get you in the mood for the film's debut (and if you're curious, be sure to check out our own Todd Gilchrist's review from the Comic-Con screening).
Up until now, most of the promotional materials for the movie have focused on lovable slacker Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) and his blossoming romance with the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). What we haven't seen nearly enough of are the seven evil exes Scott must defeat to win the heart of his one true love. That changes a bit today.
The production has released several fictitious posters based on evil ex #2, Lucas Lee (Chris Evans), and his awful movies...
