Nothing here functions technically. Awful boxy sound makes this painful to listen to. The direction is also rather bland, though the actors do their best to keep the whole project up. But you can actually sense their troubles.
It's not good to watch a movie where the camera is kept so close up all the time. It actually makes the kisses unbearable to watch. I don't really want to participate in those kisses, but are almost forced to.
A young Noomi Rapace is best, being able to tearjerker in seconds just after listening to a sentence. That alone is almost enough to give this a 3 out of ten. Kept at gunpoint she's again marvelous.
This film is well meant, but amateurish on all levels professionally, and is filmed in an awful bleak light, not doing anyone a favor, making them look like sick drug addicts.
I understand this is some kind of follow up of a much loved film. That makes it even worse. Do yourself a favor. Keep away from this.
