Keeps getting better as the hour progresses

I remembered Jim Breuer from SNL and figured "Hardcore" was going to be an hour of meandering pothead humour. I'm glad to say I misjudged a very funny man. The routines kept getting better until I was actually laughing out loud. The final AC/DC "Hokey Pokey" number is a hoot! Jim Breuer's imitations are dead-on and the delivery is very natural. "Hardcore" is an hour spent with that friend of yours who's so good he should try stand-up.

Comedy? Shouldn't it be funny?

Maybe I am missing something here but to me this was just a guy jumping around on stage screaming. I thought it was called stand-up COMEDY because it was funny. I have a large collection of stand-up comedy routines on video but this is the only one I am not keeping. I'm sure Jim Breuer have lots of talents but stand-up comedy is not one of them. I haven't seen any of his movies but I'm sure he could be funny doing someone elses script, if it had any jokes in it. In this show he talks (read screams) about everything from the talibans to his pregnant wife but I didn't find a single joke in there. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Worth seeing once

4/19/18. I've seen a couple of other stand ups by Breuer, and this one was ok, but not his best. Try his 2009's "Let's Clear the Air" instead. His take on AC/DC and Joe Pesci, however, were pretty funny.
