For horror fans, the autumnal season is the time of year when we all get to be the belle of the ball. For a few weeks each year, our expertise in all things creepy and spooky is valued above all other film fanatics, and we're often tasked with providing as many film recommendations as possible for casual horror fans to cram into a month or two of viewing. Sure, there's bound to be requests for "the scariest movie ever," but as new crops of monster kids grow into their own year after year, there's an evergreen need for horror movies that adults can watch with their little ones.
Family-friendly horror movies are a great way to inaugurate younger viewers to one of the most prolific subgenres in all of cinema, as well as offer a safe outlet to begin processing negative emotions like fear, grief, sadness, and anxiety. It's a...

Hello, everyone! This week, we only have a handful of horror and genre titles headed to Blu-ray and DVD, but several of these releases are sure to get you into the holiday spirit, including Scream Factory’s 4K release of Mike Dougherty’s Krampus: The Naughty Cut. Rlje Films is unleashing Creepshow: Season 2 on both Blu-ray and DVD (with the Creepshow Holiday Special included), and if you’re still looking to enhance your holiday spirit even more, there’s always the indie Christmas-themed anthology 13 Slays Till X-Mas coming to Blu-ray, too.
Other home media releases for December 7th include Werewolves Within (one of this writer’s favorite movies of 2021), Blue Monkey, and Broadcast Signal Intrusion.

We're already hooked on CBS's Young Rock, a sitcom based on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's adolescence. Johnson's show is a hilarious look at his eccentric upbringing, and his experiences growing up with his wrestling icon dad Rocky Johnson (plus all his famous wrestling pals). It's clear from watching the premiere that Rocky served as a major inspiration for Dwayne, both as a father and an athlete. While Rocky sadly passed away in 2020, there's still so much to learn about the man, the myth, and the legend who helped raise The Rock.
Rocky Johnson, otherwise known as Soul Man, was a Canadian-American WWE hall-of-famer on the scene in the 1980s. He teamed up with fellow wrestler Tony Atlas to form "The Soul Patrol," together becoming the first African-American World Tag Team Champions in WWE history. He's famous to this day as being "the king of the drop-kick."

Halloween is nearly upon us, and that means you’re probably looking for some spooky movies and shows to watch to get you in the spirit of the holiday. Of course, it’s easy to find a good slasher flick or psychological horror on various services, but trying to locate such content that’s family-friendly can sometimes be tough. The good news is, though, that you don’t have to look very far at all if you’re a Disney Plus subscriber, as the platform is filled to the brim with plenty of great Halloween stuff for viewers of all ages.
One option you’re certain to be happy to hear about is the 1993 comedy horror Hocus Pocus, which ranks as one of the most timeless Halloween classics of all time – proven further by its huge haul during its theatrical rerelease this year. This tale of a trio of evil...

Post-Ghostbusters but pre-Julie and the Phantoms, Disney Channel was busy dishing out tricks and treats with Halloween movies like Under Wraps, Halloweentown, and Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire. But, almost 20 years since its release date, one movie I can't shake from the back of my mind is The Scream Team, mainly because the plot is surprisingly terrifying. I used to have nightmares about this movie every October as a kid, so it only felt natural that I should check it out again as an adult, and let me tell ya, those nightmares were 100 percent justified.
Zachariah Kull, the villain of the film, was an inventor in the 1800s who burned down his cabin with his wife still inside. While it's later proven that the fire was an accident sparked by a faulty invention he created using natural gas, Zachariah is seen as a criminal for centuries because of town lore.

It’s a relatively contained secret that beneath the magic and the pixie dust, Disney has produced a whole lot of freaky stuff. And now that the House of Mouse has officially launched its expansive streaming site, Disney Plus, a large collection of that spooky material is available to cower over wherever and whenever you want!
Of course, this isn’t to say that there are blood fests on there – the company couldn’t even summon up the courage to include the R-rated Deadpool and Logan films – but rather point out that some of the studio’s most iconic features incorporate incredibly frightening scenes.
While the Mouse House has evidently filtered some of its more controversial content for Disney Plus – though they seem to have completely missed Dumbo‘s iconically problematic crows – Bloody Disgusting was still able to conjure up a video of some of the freakiest stuff to explore on the streaming service.

Scared Famous continues to terrorize its reality show contestants with a devilish demonic challenge and dials up the scare factor with those creepy ghostly twins again. The Scream Team Challenge this week is The Scare Witch Project and it’s worth another $10,000 towards their favorite charity. Redman tells them this game is all about mirroring and awareness. He asks them all to step inside a circle laid out in stones, with a pentagram and various witchcraft items strewn across it. They have to go into the creepy zone and try to remember as much as they can about the items...read more...

Los Angeles, May 10: Rapper Drake complimented actress Kat Dennings on Twitter, but it didn't go well with his fans.
The fans targetted "The Scream Team" actress on the social-networking site, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Talking about the incident, the 26-year-old said: "Drake was super nice and said something on Twitter about me, but I didn't realise that happened."
"When I got home, I had, like, 50,000 new followers on Twitter and then I looked and they were like, 'F**k you, Kat Dennings!' and 'You can't take Drake from me, he's mine.' I'm like, 'I'm literally not trying to take Drake from you.' And then I realised what.

How seriously do you think I take Halloween? Well, I’m fairly frickin’ anal retentive anyway, so I need to book my viewing in advance. I mean I’ll deviate from my itinerary, but I at least need a plan. I can’t be the only one out there with a stick up his ass. So this October/Halloween Season I figured we needed a little guidance. There’s too many damn channels on the cable box, no horror hosts and shit for advertising. So let me be your TV Guide… Keeper.
We won’t touch on everything and I’m sure new programming will come up as October gets itself moving. I’ll throw an update out there from time to time if a special is airing or a new programming line up is discovered, uncovered, revealed or undead. Yes, this is for cable or dish. Network TV will...

SoapNet has greenlighted a new original series to begin in June. Back-to-back half-hour episodes of Soapography, which profiles leading soap opera actors, will begin running weekends between 6-7 p.m. The Walt Disney Co.-owned channel has yet to decide how many episodes will be ordered or which production company will produce them. Susan Lucci, Deidre Hall, Rebecca Budig and Peter Bergman are among the soap stars expected to get Soapography treatment. SoapNet has launched only two original series in its four-year history: the Emmy-nominated talk show Soap Talk and Soap Center, which no longer produces new episodes. The channel, which is in 37 million homes, subsists largely on rebroadcasts of ABC daytime programming. Sister cable network Disney Channel has greenlighted a third installment to its original movie franchise Halloweentown to air in the fall. Debbie Reynolds, Kimberly J. Brown, Joey Zimmerman and Judith Hoag will return for Halloweentown 3, which goes into production next week. Writer Dan Berendsen (The Scream Team) and director Mark Dippe (Pixel Perfect) are working on Halloweentown 3. The film will be executive produced by Sheri Singer (Right on Track).
