Beautifully rendered environmental message
gbill-748774 February 2024
A beautifully rendered short animation from Evelyn Lambart. It's a film about environmentalism, in the same vein as Dr. Seuss's book The Lorax from the following year, but much simpler. The beauty of the images is in stark contrast to the sad plight of the animals, helpless in the face of pollution, which is powerful. It's very direct as a message and could be construed as heavy-handed, but in light of us living 54 years later in a world that's essentially in a mass extinction event, swimming in plastic, and dangerously heating up, these kinds of strong messages are needed, and it's nice to see that Lambart used her artistry to send one.
