Some women will go to extremes when they want something badly. Take Uma, a flight attendant, whose only desire is to become a mother. She is an attractive woman; there will be millions of men that would love to make her dream come true, but no, Uma is set in having Nico, her best friend Lucia's boyfriend, to be the donor of the sperm she needs to conceive.
Uma, who has done the research about how to administer herself the procedure, doesn't count that clumsy Nico will break the device where the sperm is supposed to be stored for the insemination. In a state of panic, Nico, who feels responsible for the mishap, does the ultimate favor in doing the real thing, hoping the miracle will occur.
Lucia feels betrayed when she finds out what really happened. All is forgiven with Nico as she plans for her elaborate wedding. Unfortunately, Uma's baby decide to make an entrance just as the wedding is about to begin. Nico can only do the right thing to be with Uma to await the arrival of his son!
"Apasionados" a pleasant comedy from Argentina, is mildly amusing. This Spanish-Argentine co-production doesn't break new ground. Director Juan Jose Jusid, who also worked in the screenplay, shows some flair for the way he stages the film. Unfortunately, there are no surprises, as the viewer has figured it out before the end.
