Notting Hill It's Not
Mark-12929 March 2004
A superstar actress looking for a place to escape the heat during filming, wanders into the offices of a catering firm. There, she meets a salesman who is so shocked, he allows her to walk away with his suit jacket.

This is only the beginning of a long comedic courtship. Despite seeming to have little in common, the two constantly find themselves in each others company, oblivious to the bond growing between them, although friends and co-workers see what is happening all too clearly.

It really should be noted that the leading man gives a towering performance near the series end. During the series he retained a low key, almost boring demeanor. However, alone after seemingly losing the love of his life, his raw emotion explodes in a scene of both passion and pain. Kudos for this.

Filled with multiple subplots, pathos, broad humor and moments of great frustration for the viewer, this Japanese drama perhaps is too long for it's own good, but still worth viewing for those who enjoy "love conquers all" stories. But, be warned, these lovers are brought together kicking and screaming.
