Seeing as WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE has been such a success across the globe I guess it comes as no surprise for TV companies to come up with a format for a big money quiz . Unfortunately it`s something of a shock that anyone could come up with a trainwreck like this
First up is the totally complicated nature . It`d take me reams and reams to explain it , so I`ll just say it involves contestants , a panel , people on the end of a phoneline , answering questions and leave you to figure out how it fits into the rules
Can there be anyone less suitable as a quizmaster than Melanie Sykes ? She makes the cast of CORONATION STREET sound like the Royal Shakespeare Company. I`m all for regional accents on TV but this is too much.
If you`re having a quiz it might help if the researchers earned their money. Take this question " What American actor has an autobiography called Lucky Man ? " The answer is Michael J Fox who`s actually a Canadian and there`s been a couple of other misleading questions like this
Still as with other quiz shows it`s always good to laugh at the muppets who have a surreal answer to questions like this one ....
Q " What is the condition called where sufferers suddenly fall into a deep sleep "
A " Nostalgia "
I can see this contestant working as a researcher on the next series
