Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some violent yelling and threatening conversations.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Sir Felix Carbury seduces Ruby Ruggles and Marie Melmotte separately; kissing and moaning. In one scene Felix and Ruby are obviously having sex (nothing explicit is shown). After Ruby breaks off from Felix, he traps her and attempts to rape her, when a gentleman comes to her rescue and beats Felix. Mrs. Hurtle tells Paul Montague he must sleep with her as part of an ultimatum that will release him from their engagement formed two years prior; they kiss and he removes her boots and stockings but nothing further is shown. Later, Mrs. Hurtle says that they have had a sexual relationship. Later, however, she admits to lying (Paul refused to go forward). Lady Carbury wears cleavage-revealing dresses. In a few scenes, a nude statue is seen in the background. Couples kiss. The term "spooning" is used.
