Shocking, amazing, beautiful!!!!!

Someone wrote that nobody can describe Paradjanov because he was unique man and artist. I am in love with Paradjanov and I want write and describe his movies everyway even if is wrong. I was very happy to see Last Spring film because I understood life and movies of Paradjanov more greatly. I never see Confession by Paradjanov and I was sad to know he couldn't finish it. Last Spring is shocking, amazing, beautiful. Wow from Seoul!!!!!!!!!!

Moving ending

I don't remember the last time I wanted to see a documentary twice but I am a film student and this highly unusual documentary was completely inspirational and changed me greatly. It was really wonderful to watch Paradjanov working on the set, see those fantastic collages of Mona Lisa he made and find out about the horrors of his imprisonment. Not a typical documentary though, feels like a movie, like a dream. The ending almost made me cry, it is a genius ending. 9/10

One of the greatest documentary films
yearz26 April 2003
I saw this film many years ago in Sweden. I was really moved by it and my girlfriend was crying when it ended. Everyone stood up and applauded. We didn't know about Sergei Paradjanov before that but later watched many of his films. My favourite part is the famous montage at the end and also when they show him shooting The Colour of Pomegranates. The prison part is just really excellent also. I think Last Spring documentary is one of greatest documentaries I have seen, my other favourites are the Man with Movie Camera by Vertov, Nanook by Flaherty, controversial Olympia by Riefenstahl, and Sorrow and Pity by Marcel Ophüls.
