Sex & Nudity

  • 8+ can handle this.
  • Some characters kiss.
  • Sexual relationships are implied, but never actually depicted.
  • Women dress in low-cut tops and/or lowrider jeans revealing cleavage, lower backs, and abdomens.

Violence & Gore

  • A Mutant Lizard has its arm cut off by a fan. No Blood can be seen
  • An innocent Woman is pushed off a roof. Blood can be seen coming out of her nose. This injury results in her being paced in a coma where it's stated she may never wake up. Her fate is never shown due to the series cancellation.
  • A Character has his head cut off by a sword. While only his body is shown onscreen it is clear what happened. A Woman later finds the character's cut off head and screams.
  • The Character 'Shikata' slices off a guy's thumb off (while holding a gun) and for one second the sliced thumb with a gun can be seen on the floor but with no blood or detail. Shikata's sword can be seen with slight blood but very briefly.
  • Unlike other Spider-Man cartoons, this show aired on MTV and was intended for an older audience. As a result, the violence is rather intense at some points. Violence results in bloodied cuts and/or bruises on characters. Sometimes characters are killed.

Profanity

  • One use of pissed and one use of bitch.
  • Words like Asshole, bitch, hell, damn, and cock are said
  • The profanity was edited out of international broadcasts (mainly as the show aired on children's channels in some territories), the Disney+ prints also utilize these international prints of the show.
  • Mild language such as "damn", "hell", and "crap".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Smoking and drinking can be seen present at college parties. Some characters smoke.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • in the final episode we can see some criminals tricking spiderman into hurting a inocent woman the woman got sent to a hospital and is in a coma and cant wake up the coma scene can be scary for some viewers
  • Characters are in peril much of the time.
  • In the pilot episode a character is bullied by being kidnapped, tied up and blindfolded, and left in a car. Later he is seen being shot by paintballs, clearly in pain. The other students laugh at his misery. These scenes can be intense for younger viewers.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ending of the series will not sit well with young viewers. In the two-part series finale, there is a sequence in which Spider-Man believes Mary Jane has been killed by some villains, and he sets out to take revenge those who did this. In the series final moments, he quits being Spider-Man, and we see him throw the suit into a lake.
