The Wounded 1.0

Gangs vs Cults.

Not for everybody. For its genre, not too shabby.

Starting off, cover alone, hot chicks, guns, anguish (more like constipated), but mostly hot chicks garnered my interest.

Some cool fight scenes. I really, really, really wanted to hate it. But what the hey, surprised - for a No/shoestring budget, how did they get access to a jail? Or a prison bus? Clearly the show runs on its memorable "characters" - I wasn't a big fan of Taka, the overly preachy counselor, but the LSD cult leaders and some of the gang members deserve some props for their standout scenes. Bella, the nekkid cult priestess - thanks for the mammaries for the Hot Tub girl! It didn't bore me compared to others of its genre. Seven stars because it entertained me.

I'm waiting for Wounded 2.0 Plus Zombies.

No, really.

No, really.

Banana Clip

Yeah not everyone's cup of tea or coffee, but I'm into gang life films. I really enjoyed the raw, indie approach.

A lot of the acting was whacked, but the story kept me watching. Expected a slasher movie, got a gangsta vs. crazies.

There was a certain whack-a-doo look in certain characters that in their eyes you only see in hood-rats that when they find out their gangsta boyfriend is cheating on them - and they're off and running.

There are a lot of crazy characters you just gotta be on the lookout for.

The cult girls definitely worth a look. The main cult beauty is worth looking at twice, or more.

What she does to one of the characters is something to... Wait For It...

Ah, go see the "Banana clip" - you'll see what I mean.

good juvenile delinquent film
mcxdhjgd24 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Ver good and detailed character development and introduction, then comes the horror, slashing, and serial killers aspect. This is a movie about juvenile delinquents in one of those improvement programs. It is really about a bunch of juvenile prisoners going through survival training and then getting attacked by a cult amidst a break-out. The actors did a good job. It is filled with violence, horrific language (but it is used to show transition) and some sexuality. It didn't disappoint. It was after all, a Troma movie. If you like juvenile prison dramas, then this might be a good movie for you. I would recommend giving it a watch.

Cult member number four
scaredrabbits2 November 2023
I am in this movie as one of the cult members. Shot in 1998 on 16mm film all without permits and a skeleton crew what an adventure this omen of a show turned out to be. The cult leaders scenes were shot behind Griffith Park observatory in an abandoned shed we had real machetes. Dressed in all black with the crazed look in our eyes we proceeded to run around the woods like crazies. Honestly we were chasing one another i was chopping at trees and bushes and getting as many close upside mats I could. This was my first acting job in Los Angeles and to be rated one of the worst movies ever is quite an honor. I highly recommend it for a mind numbing melting experience of shoe strings and bad dreams. Morrison.

How did any distributor pick this up?
ta2man19 July 2006
This is by far the worst film I have ever seen. The film is obviously shot on a shoestring budget, but that is no excuse for the poor quality. The story jumps about so much and the editing is so poor it is almost impossible to follow.

I saw it on the Horror Channel which admittedly can show some "lesser quality" films, but I am at a loss as to why they would bother showing this. I can only imagine it was bought as part of a job lot, but someone should have taken the decision to file it away as one never to be inflicted on the public.

The story makes no sense, the characters have the intellect of amoeba and the dialogue is truly cringemaking. I am surprised the complete cast and crew was not made up of Alan Smithee.

Entertaining movie that is fully packed with intense action
julieling28 November 2012
I saw this movie on TV and got drawn to it with how hot guys are in it. I didn't expect too much as far as storyline but to my surprise it's actually pretty good. Sammi is so good in it I had to watch more of his stuff after this movie.

The premise kind of reminds me of the American History X. It's gritty and moves really well.

I highly recommend this even if it was made in 2003 it still is a very good film to watch.

The poster for the film kind of makes the film seem cheesy but it's really not the case.

If you are looking to watch a film for excitement, this will be one of them.

An attempted positive message delivered incompetently.
it001k030629 October 2006
Other IMDb posted comments of mine have criticised others for unnecessarily deriding a film and often calling it "the worst ever" when it clearly isn't. As I've said before, there are usually worse out there. Really, really bad films....Dudes, this is an example! For everyone who honestly believed that 'Scarred' or 'Beast of Bray Road' was the worst ever - please watch 'The Wounded'! This is the real deal! I'll offer one plus point - the film tries to send out a positive message to young offenders. For that, in all its anti-Nazi, pro-morals preaching, I salute you. Having said which, quite how does a film that also seems to object to gang violence manage to celebrate its heroes surviving BECAUSE they work together AS a violent gang? Messages aside, however, this is incompetent. No production values, no decent choreography of action, the worst sound and cinematography ever and a rambling, poorly edited narrative. Good actors? Half-good actors? No, mate, not even garbage actors. They're worse than that! This is painful to watch. A prison based version of 'Dangerous Minds' that has a rubbish bit of satanic malarkey thrown in at the end. Devoid of atmosphere or tension. Still, DO watch it. Just to prove my point that too many contributors to IMDb are to eager to slate films as the worst ever when they're clearly not.

i was dumbfounded
movieman_kev25 April 2009
Warning: Spoilers
A middle-aged man seeks to rehabilitate prisoners through education, teamwork & paint gun sessions. The hardened prisoners however are reluctant at first, preferring to bicker amongst themselves and laugh at videos of people getting killed. It isn't long before even the white power racist is working hand in hand with the drug addicted black guy. But their new found commodity is put through a test that no one planned for when they encounter a death cult while on a camping trip.

Part low-grade brain-dead "Stand & Deliver", part truly idiotic action-oriented devil-worshiping film, ALL bad. When I started watching this film I thought it was very badly acted and it indeed was, but then the cult takes center stage close to the middle half of the film making the acting that came before seem positively almost Oscar-caliber in comparison, it was surreal. I thought I had witnessed truly bad acting before, but this movie really opened my eyes as too how incompetent people could get. I'm still kind of in shock.

Eye Candy:Shayanne Days & Debra Naclerio both show some T&A

My Grade: F

Inept.
ocosis2 December 2019
The Wounded is hilariously bad. Which is obviously why Troma picked it up. As they do. The direction and editing, the non-existent acting, and the weak Hip-Hop soundtrack, are all just dumb. As is the entire film. But I have to give it some merit for being so terrible, that I get a good chuckle out of it, when I re-watch it.

So dumb.

Proud owner.
