"Second chances they don't ever matter, people never change Once a whore, you're nothing more, I'm sorry, that'll never change."

Needing to make some space on my USB, I took a look at the film files waiting to be played, and found that despite loading it up years ago,I had never got round to watching the movie. This led to me finally getting ready for a slice of Pinku.

Note: review contains some plot details.

Giving the audience an eyeful of skin within the first four minutes of the fittingly 69 minute runtime, director Masaru Konuma & cinematographer Shohei Ando unwrap a sleazy, raunchy Pinku atmosphere powered by wah-wah crash-zooms, grubby hand-held shots over the steamy set-pieces, a surreal flourish in the utterly strange use of a bicycle wheel, and uncomfortable, lingering wide-shots on the sexual assaults.

Played by a cast who gloriously go all-in on the weirdness, even with the use of mannequins, in what was up to then only his second credit, the screenplay by Akira Momoi wheels in a wickedly seedy Pinku tale involving Incestuous siblings, a sex worker and mannequin obsession, and the misuse of a bike and a fence.
