Good documentary demonstrating hate and information technology
oliverc120 April 2005
Contrary to the previous review, Morris Dees IS committed to helping the downtrodden. As co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Dees has spent the last 35 years fighting injustice against the poor and powerless. This video demonstrates how hate-mongers have co-opted the information revolution to spread their message far and wide. I recommend the video as one of a kind in regard to this subject. The video provides viewers with specific cases in which hate groups and individuals have used the internet to promote violence and to spread their ideology and hate ideas. Do yourself a favor and rent or buy this video.

Only white folks can hate
helpless_dancer10 April 2003
Morris Dees gives the viewer a one sided view of how hate works in America. According to Dees there are no hate crimes committed by blacks, browns, Orientals, or anyone other than white people. This was an interesting documentary on the insanity of those who harm others because of their color or beliefs, but totally lopsided. I suspect Mr. Dees has his own agenda, and it isn't based on his "caring for the downtrodden".

A very disturbing documentary but i can see where some problems might come in.

The first time i saw this program was on HBO and i must admit me being black (and other cultures) did make me quite upset and scared. BUT i will admit i was not closed minded!! I did consider the fact that blacks make hate crimes too!! At schools that are mostly populated by blacks white kids often get teased and picked on...But this also happens at white schools where the black person is the victim too. Back to the topic though..in my opinion it touches on a very serious subject and the reason why they (HBO) chose the KKK and the Neo-Nazi topic was because these to groups are getting the most response. They are getting the most followers and i think the most important reason why they set this program on was because of the youth and the way they interact with the internet! and what better way to get this message out than attacking the youth or just more people for that matter.Me personally, i dont want it to be about race as the other user put it because HATE is HATE no matter what color! And yes somethings are a little lop-sided and yes i know that some blacks commit crimes too!! But lets face it! honestly no race has been hated more than the Blacks and Jews.. and the crimes committed against them has just made us spechless. So it makes sense to attack at these two big organizations. I did not want to offend anyone but this is just my opinion. (i'll love to see comments.
