"Image of a Bound Girl" by Masaru Konuma is about a professor named Keisuke who meets a suicidal girl and subjects her to shibari bondage and sexual abuse.Their relationship quickly become more and more intimate.The wife of professor tries to stop sadomasochistic love of these two souls and as a reward is also subjected to harsh S&M training...Hell yeah,I just love such Japanese pinku eiga flicks like Konuma's "Image of a Bound Girl".The plot is intelligent and easy to follow,the sleaze is heavy including sexual torture and humiliation and the acting is fine.Masaru Konuma directed also an unquestionable classic of bondage pinku "Wife to Be Sacrificed" and two installments of nasty "Woman in a Box" series.8 out of 10.

More Nikkatsu "Fun" For Pinku Lovers...

IMAGE OF A BOUND GIRL is another of the all-around "solid" entries from Nikkatsu, in terms of story/concept, acting, sleaze - basically the whole package. Not quite as "rough" as some entries - but there's plenty to look at in this film, along with the well-done storyline...
Keisuke is a timid professor who specializes in researching/teaching about ukiyoe-e woodcut paintings depicting different sexual/bondage scenarios. Keisuke's wife is an overbearing bitch who criticizes him constantly because her family is full of rich and successful politicians and doctors, and Keisuke is a lowly porn-scholar. Coming back from a long nite at the university, Keisuke witnesses a girl who botches a suicide attempt, and he takes her to the local bar to calm her down. Keisuke and the bar-owner are friends, and talk turns to Keisuke's research, and we find out that the bar-owner is a bit of a shibari rope-bondage freak himself, so he spikes the young girls drink to give Keisuke a chance to play bondage-master with a live subject, instead of constantly drooling over paintings. Keisuke finds this to his liking, and eventually, so does the young girl. As their "relationship" deepens, things go awry when his wife finds out what's going on. She uses her money to try to buy the girl off, but the girl is already in love. She turns around and gives the money to the bar-owner and his girlfriend to use to kidnap Keisuke's wife and teach her that money can't always save you from the "darker" things in life...
I found IMAGE OF A BOUND GIRL to have most of what I like to see in these types of films. A good, original storyline, a lot of nudity, some humiliation and torture, some cool rope-bondage action - everything a sleazy but intelligent Nikkatsu pinker should have. Also, Keisuke's transformation from nerdy school teacher to bondage-king is handled well and is believably portrayed - in fact, all of the acting performances are pretty above-par for this sort of production. I still can't rank it quite as high as some of my personal favorites (ASSAULT! JACK THE RIPPER, WIFE TO BE SACRIFICED, STAR OF David, etc...) but BOUND GIRL is pretty damn good. Definitely worth hunting for for serious pinku fans...8.5/10

This is a classic Nikkatsu Roman Porno. Yes, it's central theme is Shibari rope bondage but it develops to a true romance film. This film includes: Bondage, piss/watersports, pubic hair shaving, suspension, public display of bondage, eating food from someone else's mouth, 2 girls kissing, nipple pulling & an enema. Of course being 1980, everything is softcore.
Basic story of a unhappily married man that seeks something more. And an unhappy girl that seeks what she doesn't yet know she wants.
The cast is excellent. The direction is excellent. The script is excellent. Even the rope work is very good. Fantastic example of what can be accomplished with a limited budget.
This should definitely be on your watchlist!
