Surprisingly excellent movie!

Apparently, this movie is like 5 years old. Although, judging from the cast, clothes, etc. it seems like its more like ten years old and may have been a delayed movie. I don't know how I didn't watch this movie before. I don't remember hearing too much about it. I think it just released on DVD. One or two songs were good. The DVD is extremely poor quality (like a VHS), and the beginning of the movie is so retarted, I almost stopped watching right there. It has all the cliched dialogues and scenes, but don't let these things put you off. You have no idea of the sudden twist in the story. Being a movie from the '90s, I still found the story very different and intriguing, which means it might have been ahead of its time during production. A few very touchy topics are explored in this movie such as euthanasia, second marriage, and insanity. It is very interesting how Madhu struggles to handle her strong, conflicting emotions. As the aptly kept title suggests, chehraa (or face), is an integral theme and symbol in the film. The climax is very shocking and fascinating. I really liked it, but some may find it rather abrupt. Don't be put off by the poor quality and awful first half hour or so. If you like art movies, I definitely recommend this film.
