Ross recounts the rediscovery mistakenly classified extinct coelacanth fish, "...until one turned up a few years ago off the coast of Madagascar." The living coelacanth was found off the coast of South Africa in 1938. This is over 1,000 miles away from this island of Madagascar and 1938 is hardly a "few years ago."
