A superb dark comedy
Kenan_Sezer7 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
How can a bald and short and not so handsome middle aged man manages to transform himself as an attractive and charming figure in the eyes of women?! Only with the spectacular way of speech and with the sufficient level of intellectuality! This is what Gencho Gunchev (or Yastrebovski or Orelski or Sokolov etc.) is all about! Sometimes he is a passionate and farseeing urbanist architect, sometimes he is an aggrieved clerk, sometimes he is a strict and legalistic police officer. He is so clever, he never leaves traces but like the other serial criminals, he has one single weakness. In this case this is; Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". Now, you can track down this "serial robber" and catch him!

"...like my good friend, Frank Lloyd Wright said!"

Dangerous charm is a wonderful film, maybe one of the greatest comedies produced in Bulgaria. This film tells us the story of Gencho Gunchev (Todor Kolev), who works in Sofia (the capital city of Bulgaria) as an accountant and everyday counts money of the others. But he dreams for being reach and having good life in Bulgaria(during the Communist regime). So he makes a brilliant plan - he takes false identity(always in names of birds - Falcon, Hawk)and marry for a rich woman. After that he gets all her money and get away. The police arrest him but he succeeds in escaping by pretending to be dead. Then he goes to another city to run again his plan. But this time its different - he falls in love with the victim (a woman named Boryana). He doubts what to do and then decides to return to Sofia. He steals a police uniform and pretend to work for the police and makes inspections of illegal factories taking bribes.

Dangerous charm(aka Opasen char) is wonderful film about a charming criminal who uses his intellect to live freely and above the law in Bulgaria during the communist regime (something that was very hard then)...
