it has Rosario Dawson *yay*
-based on the book by Po Bronson the movie tells the story is about a successful 20 something computer guy that decides to give up all the good things he has by taking on a project that is a wee bit ridiculous. He has to make a laptop for under $100 that people can actually buy. he assembles together a group of kids at the college he's staying to help him build this machine in which they dub the "I-Magic". As the story progresses they actually manage to find a way to build the technology and find someone who wants to distribute it. But before they can celebrate problems arise from a competitor who attempts to steal their machine and so the gang must come up with a way to stop the guy and also at the same time also better the machine they already have. Through all this, we also get time for a romantic story and watch as an insecure overweight kid gets the confidence he needs in life.
-I really love this movie, it's one of those that you watch on a rainy day when you have nothing better to do. It's cute, silly, funny, smart and a classic tale about the underdogs coming out on top. Thankfully the movie avoids all the usual underdog clichés and gives us a highly entertaining movie. The actors are all perfectly cast. Adam Garcia plays the main character Andy and he does an okay job. He's not going to win any awards for his performance but he's great in this nonetheless. Jake Busey, Enrico Colantoni, and Ethan Suplee also round up the gang as the guys that help Andy get his ideas of the ground. the always stunning Rosario Dawson rounds up the cast by playing Andy's love interest who basically comes up with the design for the I Magic. Jon Favreau and Guy Techie wrote the stellar screenplay that brought this movie to life. Not sure how accurate it is to the book but I don't really care since I love the movie so much. Director Mick Jackson also shows great potential by doing an amazing job of keeping the movie from going too over the top.
-this is a highly enjoyable movie that never takes itself too seriously. It fun, silly, and is just what a B movie should be.
