Ever since Dragon Ball Daima first dropped, fans can’t catch a break from gushing over it, and no one can blame them. The excitement is understandable, given the spectacular animation and the punch of nostalgia that every episode brings weekly. While most fans have acknowledged that animation-wise Daima is superior to most Dragon Ball Series, the plot is undeniably intriguing as well. It brings back the original charm of the series.

Speaking of original charm, Bulma was an integral part of the initial appeal of Dragon Ball. She was among the first characters to be introduced in the series. With such a huge cast, it’s a given that not every character will get the spotlight for extended durations. However, Bulma is one of the main characters and deserves way more screen time. Dragon Ball Daima, the anime project with which Akira Toriyama was associated, has quickly gone on to become one of the most popular Shonen series in no time. Initially, the series received a mixed bag of emotions when it was first announced. However, the creators’ sudden passing earlier this year made Daima heavily anticipated because the series was his last project.

However, when the series was released, all the doubts surrounding the series were cleared in an instant. The franchise went back to its roots and featured action similar to the original series, Dragon Ball. Interestingly, that’s not the reason behind its infectious fame, but the series specializes in showcasing several Star Wars references, making it a show with massive potential.

In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, one of the biggest battles early on is Goku’s face-off with his brother Raditz. This is the moment that kicks off Goku’s journey in the Dragon Ball Z universe, and it’s full of iconic moments.
If players want to unlock special alternate story branches for Goku, like Side by Side and Pushing Limit, they’ll need to beat Raditz fast. The game gives two ways to face him: as Goku alone, or teamed up with Piccolo, and both options lead to different ways of handling the fight. Here’s how to get to the Raditz fight and the best strategies for winning it quickly.

Sequel to “Dragon Ball Super: Broly “(2018), “Dragonball Super: Super Hero” is the twenty-first animated feature film in the Dragon Ball franchise, the second to carry the Dragon Ball Super branding, the first to be produced mainly using CGI animation, as well as the fourth and final animated Dragon Ball film to be produced under the supervision of franchise creator Akira Toriyama before his death in March 2024. It is also a kind of a tribute film to the whole iconic series, with the majority of characters that have appeared through the years appearing one way or the other, plus enough fanservice to satisfy all the fans of “Dragonball”.

Super Saiyan transformations are easily the most iconic power-ups in the history of anime. Many fans would jump with excitement at the faintest glimpse of the Saiyan’s godly aura. While the base form is more than enough, every new and advanced version of the transformation is fondly welcomed by fans. One of the best demonstrations of the hype surrounding this power-up was Goku’s Super Saiyan 4 from Dragon Ball Gt.

In the world of anime, there are very few titles that have made a lasting impact on the minds of viewers; Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball is one of them. Aside from featuring lovable characters in the series, the mangaka has showcased some of the most iconic villains in the show, with Dragon Ball Super featuring some old faces that the fans have not seen in a long time.

Though Dbs has been criticized for a ton of things, it also proved that Frieza will always be Kakarot’s greatest foe and will forever be a threat to Universe 7. The antagonist has often proved itself to be an undetermined level of threat, as he made his glorious return in Dbs with Golden Frieza, which made him way too overpowered.
However, it looks like the tyrant wants to grow his status from a world-conquering mass murderer to a multiversal threat.

Dragon Ball Super was a controversial anime within the Dragon Ball series. Fans of Dragon Ball didn’t find some of the decisions made by Gohan in the series responsible or in tune with his heroic nature. Pan, the daughter of Gohan and Videl, gets sick and comes down with a fever. It seemed like a normal passing illness in the episode to any fan but Gohan used a wish from Shenron to cure his sickly daughter when no other medicine was working due to her one-fourth Saiyan heritage.

Spoilers to follow for the first two episodes of "Dragon Ball Daima."
It's funny to think that Akira Toriyama never planned on making something like "Dragon Ball Z," yet it became one of the most influential comics of all time. It's a manga that revolutionized action shonen titles and forever changed the medium. Meanwhile, the anime adaptation became synonymous with the entire medium in many countries, with Goku being the archetypical anime protagonist for a very long time. Indeed, many staples of action shonen today, from the power-up transformations, to the (initially controversial) time-skip either got started or got popularized in "Dragon Ball."
Part of what made "Dragon Ball" so special, and what keeps both the original manga and the anime timeless decades after their initial run, is that the late Toriyama always prioritized entertainment over logic. Toriyama was unafraid to retcon even apparently essential parts of the story's lore...

Dragon Ball Daima explores the Demon Realm in all its majesty. In just 3 episodes, there’s been so much lore dumps that fans haven’t gotten used to since the Saiyan Saga. It’s already been confirmed that the Namekians and Shin’s species are from the Demon Realm. Now a lot of fans are suspecting that the Saiyan race could be from the same realm.

The Saiyans as a concept was first introduced in Dragon Ball Z‘s first arc when Goku’s brother Raditz dropped the bombshell about Goku’s true origins. In Universe 7, Saiyans are always known to be a barbaric race whose way of life is annihilating civilizations and selling planets to the highest bidder. There were righteous Saiyans in the past like Yamoshi and his team but the evil ones took over everything, leading to their own undoing.

Dragon Ball Daima Pays Hearty Tribute to George Lucas’ Star Wars as Series Transcends to Demon Realm
The 3rd episode of Dragon Ball Daima dives right into the Demon Realm, where fans witness Goku, Supreme Kai, and Glorio go through multiple portals that literally shake them to their very cores in order to reach the 3rd world of the Demon Realm. Sure, the second half of the episode felt a bit like Dragon Ball Gt but Daima promises more lore drops with a lot more characters involved.

Additionally, Daima is rumored to end within 20 episodes so it shouldn’t be draggy as much. Dragon Ball fans haven’t seen the series explore a place this deep since planet Namek and drop revelations this big in early episodes since the Saiyan Saga. Glorio’s home world looks like a scene straight out of Star Wars, prompting fans to suspect whether Dragon Ball took a page from it once again.

There have been many villains in the Dragon Ball universe, and each one is more formidable and unforgettable than the others. However, few have had the lasting impact and complex background of Dabura, the Demon King. In Dragon Ball Daima, Toei Animation appears to be introducing a new villain to the Dragon Ball universe, but with one subtle and eerie detail, they’ve ensured that this new antagonist could never quite reach the same stature as Dabura.

As a ruler of the Demon Realm and a cunning, formidable warrior, Dabura’s influence extends beyond just his appearances in the Majin Buu arc, making him an impressive figure long after his departure. With Dabura’s legacy still casting a shadow over the Demon Realm, the new villain is bound to face the unique challenge of living up to an unspoken standard set by a universally loved and respected leader.

"Dragon Ball" is back! The hugely influential franchise finally has a brand new anime for the first time since 2015's "Dragon Ball Super." Titled "Dragon Ball Daima," the series has a unique place in the franchise, being both a sequel to the original "Dragon Ball Z" as well as a prequel to the more recent "Dragon Ball Super."
The thing that makes "Daima" both exciting but also deeply bittersweet is that it's the very last project "Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyama worked on before his tragic death earlier this year. Toriyama came up with the story and setting for "Daima," as well as many of its designs. The anime series is a delightful throwback to the original, pre-"Dragon Ball Z" era of "Dragon Ball," with a big sense of humor and seemingly more of a focus on gags and adventure than endless training and fighting.

In March, the legendary creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama passed away but his legacy and words of wisdom remain. The anime industry and community still remember him as a huge influence and one of the greatest storytellers of all time. With his years of experience, also came criticism of the new generation of emerging mangakas who have found success by drawing inspiration from older anime, much like when they take it from Toriyama’s Dragon Ball.

While Toriyama definitely had faith in the future of the anime industry, he had hoped to see one that would truly be innovative or original, but couldn’t see that happen if new mangakas kept drawing inspiration from other sources or sticking to the classic anime blueprint. Anime and manga should make a writer cross boundaries you could never imagine, not limit them to a box of stereotypes and tropes.

In the age of franchise, Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Gundam series would be considered one of the greatest series that has been going strong since 1979. The Mecha franchise has expanded over these years, giving birth to several series that have helped it to remain popular, even after all these years. As a result, the series has stood the test of time, becoming one of those few names that the fans just can’t get enough of.

Another project that rivals the anime franchise’s popularity is George Lucas’ sci-fi franchise, Star Wars, which tells the age-old skirmish between the Jedis and the Siths set in a galaxy far, far away. Though the recent additions have not shown love, the original six films were showered with it, establishing it to be a series that appealed to multi-generational fans.
However, Tomino-Sensei had some big words to say to the sci-fi franchise.

Akira Toriyama hasn’t made Dragon Ball Daima just the Goku and Vegeta show but also making the Supreme Kai, Piccolo, Bulma, and 2 other new characters join the Saiyans in their journey inside the Demon Realm. Dragon Ball Super was heavily criticized by fans for focusing too much on Goku and Vegeta at the cost of sidelining other characters, including Gohan and Piccolo.

In Daima, all the characters who played a role in the defeat of Majin Buu were reduced to 6-year-old children, courtesy of Gomah and his wish. Fans got to see a miniature version of multiple people but the biggest changes are attributed to Master Roshi and Popo. Kid Roshi looks basically like Kid Krillin but with sunglasses and a turtle shell behind his back. On the other hand, Toriyama shows fans a side of Popo they’ve never seen before.

One of the major aspects that Dragon Ball Daima has put a special focus on is the mysterious Namekian race that is responsible for almost every major twist and turn in the franchise. Fans finally get to find out about their origins and the demonic connection that makes the past actions of characters like King Piccolo and Piccolo more understandable for fans.
It also explains why Toriyama considered Piccolo to be his favorite character and kept him underrated as a fighter for the longest time.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball has featured many eccentric partnerships that were unexpected, but the one that fans believe to be the most confusing was Gohan and Future Trunks. In the series’ future, where the world is ruined by Androids, Future Gohan is Future Trunks’ mentor. In fact, he is the only person Future Trunks relied on, and they have a great relationship.

However, this great relationship is doubted by many fans to this day because it was never really focused on when Future Trunks came to the present and met Gohan. He only revealed that he was trained by Future Gohan, and after that, he didn’t even have a proper interaction with the present Gohan. This seemed a little odd, considering their bond.
This relationship had a lot of potential, and Akira Toriyama could have explored it even more in the present timeline.

Gohan took the entire fanbase by surprise through his Super Saiyan 2 form during the Cell Games saga and dominated Perfect Cell like no other. Even Piccolo failed to recognize Gohan’s true potential at that time, making Goku his true father after all. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero showcased a similar feat wherein Gohan unleashed his Beast mode and didn’t waste time toying with Cell Max, unlike his 11-year-old self.

Boruto is upping its game in more ways than one. As a sequel to Naruto, fans have criticized the series thoroughly. From pacing to art, the creators received endless backlash. The tides, however, are turning for good, especially with Two Blue Vortex. The sequel is being praised for its art, pacing, and development. However, there is a catch.

The release of a recent chapter of Two Blue Vortex had fans pointing out a major blunder. In his desperation to create an iconic villain like Nagato, Masashi Kishimoto is drawing more flak. Though, this doesn’t negate the possibility of sinister villains in the series, especially with how well-written the series is.

Boruto excels in leveling up the characters in the best way possible. This holds especially true with its characterization of villains.

Most anime fans know Dragon Ball through the anime adaptation of its sequel, Dragon Ball Z. The old school fans would have the fondest of memories watching Goku arrive before Nappa and Vegeta and whooping them up on their TV screens as a child. The majority of Westerners still haven’t watched the original Dragon Ball series, which depicts Goku in his earlier years.

Over the course of three decades, the Dragon Ball franchise has established a rich legacy that is centered on iconic characters, thrilling fight scenes, and particularly a plot that is driven by the fierce rivalry and growth between Goku and Vegeta. However, the trailers and the first two episodes of Dragon Ball Daima suggest that Vegeta may be sitting this one out, breaking a tradition that has been in place since his introduction.

While limiting Vegeta’s screen time may initially seem like a risky move, this strategy could be the shake-up that Dragon Ball needs to keep the story fresh, allowing the introduction of new characters and deeper exploration of existing lore.

Dragon Ball Daima Seemingly Confirms Gohan’s New Demonic Transformation That Transcends Super Saiyan

Put FighterZ in a blender with Budokai Tenkaichi, start it up, and you’ll find a new juicy game, Sparking Zero. It certainly has snatched the best Dragon Ball game crown from the previous games. It’s a full-on Dragon Ball package serving nostalgia to the longtime fans and a visual spectacle to the fans who were introduced to the series later in their lives.

Making a successful romance anime is a big task, especially in the Shonen genre. There are very few romantic anime series that have earned fame and recognition in the Shonen world, and Horimiya is one of them. Horimiya is based on the popular manga Hori-san to Miyamura-kun created by Hiroki Adachi in 2007.

Although the Horimiya manga was serialized in 2011, it got an anime adaptation in 2021 and was directed by Masashi Ishihama. Ishihama once revealed he was quite confused while working on the anime series because of one major factor. This factor was the time difference between the manga’s serialization and the anime’s production.

It has been a couple of months since Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia decided to draw curtains on the manga series that has been published on Weekly Shonen Jump for a decade. Though the fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the ending, the mangaka moved on with the reaction following his magnum opus’ conclusion.
Tomura Shigaraki. Credits: Studio Bones
Nevertheless, speculation has risen, and it is believed that Horikoshi-Sensei might have taken inspiration from a Marvel comic character, who might be the real inspiration behind the powers of Tomura Shigaraki and his Decay Quirk. Despite no official confirmation from the manga artist, once the fans learn about the mutant of the same name, they might say otherwise.
Decay, the character from the X-Men universe, had similar powers, and fans feel that many of the characters might be inspired by other popular titles as the antagonist had a striking resemblance with the mutant.
