One of the first films I remember seeing as a child - on HBO's "Short Take" program that ran in the early 80's. Brilliant stop motion animation follows "light" through an empty house as the day progresses. Moody, and vaguely unsettling- i.e. the light turns out to be yellow paper chips that a woman sweeps away. The house itself is still- no one is seen in the film at all, the characters are the yellow objects that create the illusion of light. This sounds easier than it looks...the way Jane Aaron compensates for shadows and "real time" sunlight (as the sun moves from daybreak to dusk) is amazing. I think the music was done by Donald Fagen and completes the effect of the film- eerie and lonely.
