Excruciatingly pointless film
gridoon18 July 2006
Why was this movie made? I watched it from beginning to end and couldn't come up with a satisfying answer to this question. Four sisters are set to reunite at their father's house in Las Vegas to celebrate Christmas together, but one of them turns up dead and the other three decide to try and find out who did it (something which we know all along). There is barely any mystery, or action, or suspense, or genuine eroticism in this flick (but there is one "mad scientist" who seems to have jumped in from another film). The presence of some good-looking women at least makes it marginally more watchable than it would have been otherwise, but it's still a waste of human effort, financial resources and a viewer's time. It was OK but hard to understand

Warning: Spoilers
I am a massive Duran Duran fan and when I got this on DVD, I thought it would be just like Sugar Town (another film with John Taylor in). However, it is nearly the opposite. Its a complicated storyline for one thing and I found it hard to keep up with the characters. Another thing, there is far too much sex in it! OK, nearly all films have references to it but this has sex in every other scene. Its one to watch without the parents I can assure you!! Right, the acting. It was kind of good, must admit it was wooden in places. John Taylor is one of the better actors in it and he was well casted I think. But it is a strange story and you can only really watch it once. Not a must see!! Unless you are a duranie then you might want to take a look.

Painful torture, even for a Durannie!

I was really looking forward to seeing this film, and that desire jumped up and bit me on the tushie. I am your average 30-something ex-Durrannie and I will fully admit that I get nearly everything John Taylor did since he left Duran Duran. I have bitten my tongue while watching his other attempts at acting-they were ameteurish but ok because he was playing HIMSELF, a rock star, or had very few lines. This movie is complete crud and I feel like an idiot for sitting through it all the way to see if it would get any better. There is no doubt in my mind why it went straight to video- it stinks! There are holes in the script big enough to drive a truck through. Everyone will know who did it immediately, and the only reason to keep watching would only be to see boobies, and sadly, that effect was lost on me. John Taylor plays some sort of diaboloical, smarmy entrepeneur, and he starts off the movie by making horrible, unpassionate, standing-up-while-fully-clothed love to some bimbo while she bites her lip and cries fake tears. If this is how J.T. really is in the sack, I'm glad I was never a groupie. What about the mad scientist doing an autopsy with a chain saw in front of the deceased's sister? Or the recovering heart attack victim in a room with NO medical equiptment, whatsoever? NEVERMIND!
