Unexpected enjoyment

I didn't know what it was going to be about so the movie was a surprise. I really got into it, enjoyed it, and learned quite a bit about Japanese lifestyles, customs, etc.

Beautiful scenery, great photography, and outstanding soundtrack.

I'm a bit confused about what was being passed around when the bidding began.

This movie does not end with the traditional American love story finale (man and woman fall in love, marry, and live happily ever after). It does, however, present a different lifestyle that we (Americans) are not really comfortable with- that of the other woman.

Quite an excellent and entertaining documentary of the life of the Geisha. Narrated by Susan Sarandan, it is very informative. I was actually quite surprised by the quality of this film. I was very glad to have purchased it. I only wish that there were more documentaries of this quality around about the Geisha.

It covers the everyday life of the modern Geisha. From dressing to ozashiki (teahouse parties), it covers a lot. I feel that after viewing this film that I have a much better understanding of this secretive culture of the Japanese society. It is very satisfying.

I highly recommend "The Secret Life of Geisha" if you are interested in learning about the life of the Geisha.
