A few funny lines and a crude scene or two
raymond-159 September 2004
It's a kind of road movie in which two strangers Orontes, a nut case, and Pelopidas a jailbird make off in a stolen car to recover a bag of money secretly hidden in a WC of a roadhouse years before.

Their journey takes them through numerous villages where they meet up with new and former girl friends with whom they enjoy multiple sexual adventures.

They both have much time to make up having been confined for years.

It's a senseless farce with some amusing situations as they try to evade their pursuers. Here and there are some witty lines but on the whole the humour is not very funny and decidedly crude at times e.g a couple sexing on the dinner table while a third person is eating his meal. I am becoming bored with films where they insist on characters urinating along roadsides. It's just not funny any more. Can't we have more originality?

In one scene to escape capture Pelopidas agrees to feign death and be buried in a coffin in the cemetery. The idea is to dig him up afterward. All kinds of mishaps prolong his agony.

Nobody comes to any real harm and the adventurers with their girl friends end up in America, a land they say is full of opportunities.
